In this video I review my custom Tamiya Bruiser monster truck inspired by an old RC Car Action magazine build from 1989! Blast from the past!

I made a couple sets back in the day..alot of time spent with a giant drill bit and boring bar. One set was on my dually hilux crew cab (clod body) and the another set on a mountaineer.

I had those monster truck tires 6 tires 4wheels . But they where plastic and I put them on The Revo 3.3 . It bash .. but the engine overheated 🥵.. I do have vídeo and pictures might post them on KZbin just for the thrills . Peace ✌🏼

For welding the wheels, I can imagine them putting barrel vertically on a bench, inserting a "reference" or "template" cylinder to mark the height (wheel offset) and true 90deg of the wheel-plate vs the barrel, and with that, positioning the plate and start welding.

That is quite possibly the way they did it for sure. I would imagine that have a reference insert like that in different heights would allow them to vary the wheel offset as well.

Great video My neighbor had a bruiser back in the 80’s. I always wanted one but could never afford one.

That was probably the case for many of us, they were very pricey in comparison to say a Blackfoot or hornet. Once they were discontinued they were real expensive and even till this day they still hold quite the value

3d Printing is definitely a form of rapid prototyping. 3D Printing has actually been in use since the mid 80s in certain industries, just didnt' hit mainstream until the patents expired. Would be interesting to see what the method for the bed cover was.

Do you have a street truck with the bed still there? I am trying to find a chassis or example I could use to build a street stance RC4WD blazer that has been made into a truck but what to fit under the bed without cutting it has me stumped. So far.

What do you mean by a “street truck” like a touring car chassis ? There’s been a few guys who have used the blazer bodies and still used the TF2 platform and did a leaf under axle mod to lower it down for a 2wd or low rider look.
