Best bit is when you start beating yourself up about the black lines........and all us silent viewers are shouting "LEAVE EM ALONE". Luckily you did. The wheels are a nightmare - the Porsche wheels really pop but with that car you are not surprised they pop. The Merc is more understated so in my eyes looks great........but like you if I had other wheel options I would always just pop them on and see. Very pleasant way to spend a wet Saturday watching this video. Cheers Glen.

I think the end result looks Drop-Dead-Gorgeous, I’m not gonna lie!! An Absolute “Beaut”!!!! I did a few of these when i was a bit younger. But, I think, I simply lacked the patience, the maturity (to do all the little tiny details, which at the time, I thought made no difference; but they are what makes a car either ‘normal’, or, Stunning. So, knowing how much time, patience, and talent goes into a job like this, I thoroughly take my hat off to you. And I still miss not having the raw talent to do a body shell to this sort of level. Mad Respect!!!! PS - forgot to say - the shot at 33:13 looks fab-uuuuu-lous!!!!!

Wow, both of those cars look amazing!! The Merc looks superb, but that Rothmans livery on that Porsche is insanely good. I love both of them. You've done a fantastic job of that Merc mate, keep up the good work! I had one of those bodyshells years ago, painted it all in black, apart from the spoilers, wing mirrors and Merc bonnet badge which were in silver, more of a road car look. Just wish I could find some photos....

Use an exacto knife to clean up (scrape off) the over spray and make the lines sharp and corners straight again.

Love that CLK Glenn it does pop with the black lines and I would say it needs them for sure.. I was just thinking about what red to use for my Brat poly body and a cc01 Bronco body and after watching this I will use the same red and white as you as long as they cone in air brush paint.. another cool video mate thanks for posting

A great project and an excellent build, I thoroughly enjoyed this one thank you, whilst I can see your thinking on the extra black lines for me they just don't work, I would remove them and then re look at the wheels but avoid black wheels as you will have the wheel/tyre 'merge' issue again. For those reason's I'd jump in the Porsche as for me it is more complete at this stage but give the Merc a few more coats of looking at and you will figure it out my friend, Thanks for posting and take care out there.

Well, that is a different sight, a Mercedes in Marlboro sponsorship but I like it. Keeping the paint scheme simple with few extra sponsor logos looks much better then most sponsorship liveries these days (which usually look like eye vomit!). Now, if I could jump in a drive just one, since I'm a Porsche fan....it's obviously Porsche for me all the way!

I guessed right! Yeah black scoop would have been to much in a ba barakas kinda way, suck it and see! Cracks me up every time that retroism lol ! I think it's origins were from a halls mentholyptus advert if I recall correctly? I like the wheel colour as its dark but not so dark that the detail dissapears,don't think you could have done a better job on top of what you've already done unless you go as far as painting panel gaps and adding working lights etc. Overall huge improvement over standard!!! Ps have to watch that it doesn't kick you out of bed:)lol

Well Glenn. You done it mate. That's proper good, that is. Sorry Porsche, you're dumped. Mercedes for me. But I so love the Marlboro colours. Though, I was expecting you to use fluorescent red or orange (& yes I'd guessed what you were doing!) coz if you've ever seen them in the flesh they are so bright! The camera just can't capture how bright these colours were. I wasn't sold on the black lines idea at first but yes it works & adds to the look really well. Those wheels work well surprisingly, I'd have thought black too, but maybe spray them TS30 silver for added shine?

Just watched this one Glenn - amazing work. How did you lower the front in the end (I read on part 1 you used spacers on the shock tower - but how?). I fitted a carson tune up kit - so it has mini CVAs - but they’re about 5mm too high. Grateful for your advice?

When it comes too the rims maybe have them be a very white in the front & grey in the rear kind of like the Marlboro Porsche 956 ? Ofc white rims all around works nicely as well.

Honestly? No to the black lines. The packets, death sticks, don't have them and on the shell they distract too much from the red/white pop. That said it looks great, perhaps keep the diagonal from the rear across the door panels next time.
