To be hounest, i didn't have a clue how to make them but i started with making templates from thin cardboard. a Lot of time went into the bending, cutting and shaping of the alluminium sheet untill everything fitted corrwctly. There's an annotation at 2:30 for a sort of how-to video.

Yeah, the problem is, you have 1! That classifies YOU as being a consumer. You WILL ONLY ENDUP DESTROYING THE PRODUCT. How long is a piece of string? How long can you drive a car for? How long till rubber begins to return back to being oil? How long till plastic disintegrates? Back in 1979, plastic was only 4 years into being sold to the public in large quantities. How reliable can a 4 year old production item be? There's good PROFESSIONAL REASONS WHY this product has been COMPLETELY REBUILT and is being sold at the moment. You're only supposed to use the car for 1 year, and you should have bought 3 of each model you intend to drive!!! If you're a professional racer, you MUST BUY 6 units of each car you drive. If you want FACTORY PRODUCTION, you MUST buy ALOT of units to keep production going. If you don't, then you're buying HAND MADE CARS. Which COSTS YOU MORE TIME AND MONEY and each car is unique. It's STUPID to buy mass production and then try to make the object unique. You're antisocial human if you do that buying theory and you'll have nowhere to use the object.

Can you 3D print leaving a smooth surface as it takes some time to smooth all the visible course finish to get a real visual effect.

3D printing will resurrect the Hobby for the better!!! That engine kit is so cool, it's CRAZY! I will check his store. I am want to see if he makes a Porsche flat 6!! 😲😲😲 Awesome looking buggy! I love the wheel well idea. I will have to try that. I'm trying to get enough money for a Scorcher.... I hear though, that the shocks are shit! Do you agree? Have you replaced yours?
@2stroke4me
@2stroke4me 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It's certainly a great addition to the Scorcher. They have a twin turbo flat 6 Porsche engine, front and rear wheel wells and lots more. I haven't noticed anything bad about the shocks so far. They're not as effective as modern ones, but that just adds to the realistic driving character of the buggy. Tamiya upgraded the seals though. Since they're so called 'emulsion shocks', they should not be filled completely with oil. If all of the air is removed, they will leak.

I need to go look at their store! Wheel wells too - AND the Porsche motor cover? ? 😲
@2stroke4me

Yes, and roofracks, nerf bars, floorpans. I believe it's some kind of open source thing where anyone can send their designs to.

I'm going to have to find other stores..... I didn't see very many parts for classic Tamiya trucks and buggies. 😕 There are some really cool Blackfoot1/Frog parts, and some for Sand Scorcher. I need more options, since I'm starting again from scratch.

I dislike the body mount front post sticking through and the rear mount screws and mount, why doesn't the roll cage reach the roof, the screw's need an oil cooler and lines to cover the screws.
@2stroke4me
@2stroke4me 6 жыл бұрын
I agree. Those things bother me too. I have been thinking about making an oil cooler on the roof to cover up those screws, and since it's a car that's never finished, i'll eventually make one (and a roll cage).

That's a shame, they have a lot of accessories. Most of the engine parts were alright. I hope they don't make a habbit of selling bad fitting parts, it will give the company a bad name over time.

If you're going to be using $30,000 worth of technology to be fixing up a design which has KNOWN suspension GEOMETRY PROBLEMS, then you should realise you're wasting everyone's time and money! Your object REALLY IS old and you don't waste anymore time on it! You're going to have ALOT OF 'down time' with this product. You didn't buy in ENOUGH QUANTITY. Once you stop being a consumer, you'll begin to realise you wasted YOUR time and ours, and your money and ours. Consumers are ANTISOCIAL HUMAN BEINGS.
