Hi Peter, hope you’re keeping well. Thank you for watching my friend, really means a lot. Yeah, honestly, the smile on my face was ear to ear, even though I tipped it over a couple of times. The Lunchbox is definitely on my list, if it’s anywhere near as much fun as the Saburu Brat, then I can’t wait to save up for one. That little street thrash was just what I needed for a cheeky lunch break street bash, to relieve the stress of work! Great fun.😉 take care and keep safe and well. 😉😊

@@JF-RC Vanessa is a different driving experience to the Brat because she has a high centre of gravity but still lots of fun trying to keep her feet on the ground 🤓 I've still got a LB wrapped up here at home with your name on it but I need to get it to you in time for Christmas 😎

Hi there, hope you’re keeping well and thank you for taking some time to view my video. This re-release Subaru Brat is a real favourite of mine. I was extremely surprised myself on how smooth the gearbox is too. The model is completely standard except for full bearings ( the kit comes with the bearings for the gearbox ), I added bearings for the front and rear axels. Really is a beautiful running model. I run it with the polycarbonate body, and use the resin body for show. I whole heartedly recommend this model, it’s really is iconic and brings great enjoyment. Take care, keep well and all the best. 😉😊😉

Hi there, thank you for watching my video. Yeah, absolutely amazed with this Subaru Brat! I remember the one in the 80s, they only had the 380 motors and fixed differential. This is a real upgrade from the original, and is really superb! The lens on the camera would not have been able to capture the smile my fat face was producing! 🤣😉😊. Take care, keep well and all the best. 😊😉

Hi Riley, I hope you’re keeping well. Thank you for viewing my 1st sneaky lunchtime street thrash. Honestly, this is completely standard except for bearing throughout, ran like a dream. Had to turn down the D/R on the steering, amazing how much steering you have on the car! Loved every minute of it. I’ll certainly be taking this one out regularly. It even handled the hop of the curb, no issues at all. Tire ripping fun! Take care, keep well and all the best 😁😊😉

Wow, John, she certainly runs well on tarmac! Sounds lovely and smooth, too. The front suspension appears to work very well, even though there are no shocks! This has whet my appetite for my new Brat, can't wait to join you in the Brat running and thrashing club! All the best, mate! :)
@JF-RC3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, hope you’re keeping well bud. I was honestly totally surprised on how smooth the run was! I remember the original versions and always thought they were rather…well…stuff! But I think the upgraded gearbox to differential has smoothed out that gearbox and the rear shocks are better than the original. The front suspension system surprised me too, with such a basic setup, was was expecting it to be terrible, but again, even the hop off the kerb, took it all in its stride! The steering I had to turn down the D/R, because it can literally turn nearly within its own car length, amazing RC ! There wouldn’t be a camera angle large enough to capture the smile on my face! I promise, you’ll going to love it! The standard 540 is plenty for the chassis. Enjoy your build and I look forward to seeing you with a great big beaming smile! Take care, keep well and all the best to you and the family. 😉😊😁

Hi there and thank you for watching. I agree with you on that one, this is on my favourite list at the moment, I’m running it completely stock, except bearings and it really is a great car to run, even though the chassis suspension system is age old technology, it’s still super fun to run. Well worth the money. A very happy New Year to you. 😉😊😉

Hi Paul thank you for watching. That is my Polycarbonate Brat body, I use the resin one for the shelf. That was also running completely stock apart from bearings. I’d chosen the high speed gearing when I was building it. This surprised me on the running as it was quicker than I’d expected. Definitely on my favourite list. Take care, best wishes to you and the family. 😊😉

WOW John, It took those 2 jumps off the curb very well for a "truck" with no front shocks!!!! I could almost hear the tires squeal when you did those 180's, LOL. That curb smack on the right rear sounded like it hurt. Awesome run my friend, cant wait to see it dirt!! All the best, to you & yours, stay safe & stay healthy!!!

Hi Uncle Bob, thank you for watching my video, hope you’re keeping well. Yes, it took those couple of hops off the curb with ease, and as for the slight curb smack, not even a scratch. Took it all in its stride! Wonderful RC, honestly, my lunch break was one with a big smile on my face, shame I had to get back to work and sign back in! Hi Steve, thank you for watching my friend. I hope you’re keeping well. Honestly, the Subaru Brat surprised me too, I think I remember the 80’s version with the 380 motor, but this is the 540 standard motor. I think the Tamiya upgrades to the differential and me putting full bearings throughout the kit ( the gearbox is already has bearings, I added front axle bearings) has made this a great iconic RC car. It just ‘rips’ loved every minute of the run and can’t wait to get the car back out again. Take care, keep well and all the best to you and the family 😊😉

Hi Kev, I hope you’re keeping well. Yeah, I rolled the Subaru twice, lucky for me I had the polycarbonate body on😉. I was having a sneaky lunch break thrash, helped to relieve some stress 😁. This is a great RC! For such a old school suspension setup, it handled superbly. I even managed a couple of hops off the curb! Took it all in its stride, not even a wheel scuff! Yeh! 😊. I will definitely taking this RC out on a regular basis, loved every minute of it! Take care, keep safe and well. All the best to you and the family. 😁😊😉

Hi there and thank you for watching my video. Yeah, this is currently in my No. 1 favourite position, just love that old school Tamiya way and the building process was so absorbing. This is completely stock apart from full bearings (i.e. I purchased the set for the wheels and hubs, as the kit comes with bearings for the gearbox as standard). This was running with a NiMh 7.2 batter6 pack. I was so impressed with the speed. Amazing model. Take care, and a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. 😉😊😉

Looking great John looks like she handles pretty well. I have an original frog that is very worse for wear and not at all complete so I’m going to get a brat body and give it a new fresh look. Having seen yours run I’m now looking forward to getting my car running. Thanks for sharing best wishes
@JF-RC3 жыл бұрын
Hi Peter, thank you for viewing my video. Oh yes, if you’ve got the Frog, please do try and get it restored again. It will easily accept re-release ORV parts too and should be able to get it running nicely again. I believe that the original Frog doesn’t have the differential, but it’s a fixed diff. But you could upgrade that, the wheels from the Brat body and you’ll have a Subaru Brat. I’ve genuinely enjoyed building this classic and enjoyed running it even more so. I am surprised how smooth it really is. My Subaru Brat is completely standard apart from full bearings, really is just perfect! Love it. Take care, and do put on KZbin your Frog restoration journey, I would love to see how you get on. Take care, keep well and l the best to you and the family 😊😉

Hi there, hope you’re keeping well. It’s a great model, even for the age of the design. Appreciate life can throw a curve ball, but if you can reach out and get one, do, I promise, you’ll not be disappointed. I’ve loved every bit of the build and it’s great fun to drive, just had to dial down the D/R on the steering, as it can turn really sharply. Take care, keep safe and well. 😁😉😊

@JF-RC2 жыл бұрын
Hi there and thank you for watching. If you can get your hands on a re-release ORV Subaru Brat, then grab it. This is one of my favourites. Thank you for the kind like of the model. The batter was a 3300mAh NiMh battery. It would handle a 2S LiPo for a little more punch and longer running, but you’ll need to put an updated differential for a brushless setup. But to be honest, this was fun as it is, as it was in the 80’s, brought back found memories. Take care and best wishes 😁😊😉
