A very cool re release matey! Back in the day the Super Saber was never as popular as the Boomerang.... which is surprising, as its a great looking model. It's weird how it still looks futuristic 37 years into the future! Great advice on the bearings.... does anyone actually use those horrible plastic bushes? We are actually very lucky now, bearings are so relatively cheap in comparison to back in the eighties, where they would often cost the equivalent to 20% of the kit price to upgrade! Should be a fun build bud. 👍 👍 👍

I love the look of the Super Sabre! It seems much more aggressive looking. I like the futuristic styling as well. You are right about the bearings…hadn’t thought of the cost back then but you’re right that that was probably a barrier. I just can’t use the plastic bearings just on principal lol - I guess if you build these as shelf queens maybe you could get away with it? But for me I’d know they were plastic so I couldn’t do it lol

@@FastFreddyRC Couldn't agree more mate..... ALL of my kits have bearings, even the shelf queen's! Although I must admit, those plastic bushes can be of benefit sometimes if running in very wet conditions. I recently took a few cars out with some mates one very wet night, and due to getting home very late didn't bother drying them or spraying them with WD40..... Big mistake! The bearings in the rear hubs of the Fazer have rusted/totally siezed, and the front wheel bearings on 1side of the front wheel on the monster beetle have totally rusted to the shaft! My own fault, should have used plastic bushings that night, or took the time to dry everything off properly when I got home. School boy error! 😂 👍 👍 👍

Ah well that's a good point. I guess it depends on running conditions and if you're able to clean everything up straight afterwards. I guess if you're not racing, and you're just going out for some fun you could replace all the outside bearings with the plastic bushings for the night...at least that might help at times. @@yodadarksideGreenHawksRC

Hey Freddy, so so right, I’m with you, bearings I would also say are essential, rather than a ‘hop up’. Oh a ball thrust bearing, I think the last time I saw one of those, it must have been on a Schumacher BossCat that I had, back in the 90’s ….🤔I miss that RC, wish I had kept it 😊. A great overview, looks like a nice RC to build, especially given this is the first re-release from Tamiya for this great model. Got yourself a super kit, I’ll be following 😊😊best wishes to you and the family 😊

Hi Great guise as I am going to start my build soon. Do you have a link for the full ball bearing kit?

Cool!! Look up Fast Eddy on Amazon and search for Super Sabre. That should do the trick!
