The tb01 shares the same diff cases and diffs as the tg10 mk1 from the late 90’s.. so it’s basically built for nitro but it was tamiyas electric version, that’s why it’s built so beefy :) Also, if you search tamiya tgs, it’s similar to the tt01, similar gear box and suspension arms. So it’s safe to say that tamiya shaft driven cars were built based off of their old school nitro cars

That’s the way to clean up. Takes some time though 🙂 Just did the same with a WT-01. A couple of hours later my Arrma where one big pile of mud 🙂 Yeah, the TB-01 is a tank. Got the Stadium Truck version for the brushless Levant. Amazing chassis. Would love a Touring Car version too some day. Anyway, good work, my friend.

For the cars I run on a regular basis, they get a complete rebuild about once a year. Yeah, it's a lot of work but I take the opportunity to upgrade and improve the car so when it goes back on the track, it's better than before. Besides, I just like building RC cars - it's a big part of the hobby for me. Anyway, I really like your vids. Cheers!

Hi Glenn, I've had a couple of these over the years and from my experience the shock mounts always split. Even from new, the plastic seemed fragile and didn't respond well to rebuilds. Something very therapeutic about stripping down and cleaning a vintage RC, although that depends if the original kit screws are all available, otherwise it can be an absolute nightmare if the previous owner has bodged it lol. Enjoyed the video.

Hi Glenn, would you consider doing a rerebuild of a truck of some kind like monster beetle ,clodbuster, lunchbox etcetc, I love all your buggy builds immensely and I know you have done some truck restorations a while back, but I just thought it a new in box rere build could be something a bit different.... Cheers Matt NZ

Looks like you parked behind a cow!!! I've fixed cracks in plastic using nylon thread binding anchored with superglue then epoxy,to fix that crack you'd have to drill/hot sqewer an additional hole so the thread can wrap around the break, good strong fix if you're waiting for a replacement!!!

Don't be afraid to clean out the dirt between the teeth of the spur gear with a hobby knife, they run smoother and sound better.

dennis zellers I once run my Optima Mid on the beach and it actually seized up! I got it home and stripped it down to find both front and rear diff gears absolutely pack hard with sand lol! As you said I had to go round each tooth to clear the dirt out, it took hours 😬👊🏻

TVs were considered one of the higher class the chassis with shaft driven and then they went into belt-driven and they were both about as good as one another both were made with higher grade parts.
