Tamiya TC-01 Formula E GEN2 Build - Part 4

Welcome to Part 4 of the Tamiya TC-01 Formula E GEN2 build. In this video we will assemble the front and rear differentials and driveline as well as install the front and rear upper decks.
We also cover a rapidly growing issue with the TC-01, the ESC mounting. If you are installing an ESC without a fan on top, you're pretty much ready to go but, if your ESC DOES have a fan on top, you probably won't be able to mount the front upper deck into place because of clearance issues.
We address this ESC clearance issue and show you an easy workaround that still allows the use of the fan.

Thanks for making this vid. I had just finished with my own TC01 build and am also using the hobbywing esc. I moved the antenna mount but screwed the fan onto one of two the screw holes on the chassis side sill. I do have a slim 25mm (7mm high) fan on order, so hopefully that will fit. It will be close but i figure i might dremel a tiny bit of needed. Really enjoying your channel, thanks!

Sounds like another great mounting location. Since there's not a ton of power flowing though with the HW ESC, I think any amount of airflow will be helpful. Also looking at doing and internal air duct to help drive more air to it (for hot days). Appreciate the comment!
