Cheers, Paul - always great to read you, bro! I agree, finding home-made solutions really adds to the hobby and helps make a car more "yours" if you know what I mean. That's why I love Tamiya kits, it's a journey from the moment you open the box! Thanks again and take care my friend. :)

Hi Mark! Looking good so far! I just love the blue lower arms. I also think the shape of the knuckle arms is a piece of art (how extremely nerdy of me). And good to see your A5 mod again. What was that name of a tool you cut the aluminium plate with?
@MarkBryanRC4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mikael - thanks for watching these long-winded build guides! Well, I am a Tamiya nerd, too - so I agree about the knuckle arms! Oh, I cut the plate with a pair of tin-snips, basically a beefed-up pair of scissors! All the best, mate. :)

Another enjoyable build session with you! Great build. I really like the chassis but I've got fantastic memories with the Thunder Dragon in the 80s so I probably would get a Thunder Dragon. Stay safe my friend. 👍👍

Thanks again, Charlie! Yeah, I had a lot of fun with my Thunder Dragon too - so I have started to restore my original back to it's former glory - not sure about the paint though, never was a fan of the silver, might see if I can get some metallic gun-metal when paint is easier to get! 😁👍Cool! the scale sway bars are always neat looking on rc's! 👍Mark a tip for you on the CVD drives I always use a little thread lock on the grub screws that hold the pins in them because sometimes they can come lose and then the pins can fall out. the tamiya Jell type should be good to use on them because it don't hold as much as normal blue type so you can take it apart easy if needed.

Thanks very much Steve - I really appreciate you taking the time to give me a tip - I'll do that my friend, I have a little of that Gell type threadlock that my friend Rob lent me - I'm sure he won't mind sparing a little bit for those grub screws! All the best my friend! :)

got mine all together- been lots of fun- have done a bench run and getting some vibration "visible" around the rear suspension arms, and also something of a noice tapping or clicking- I am thinking I might have missed something in one of the gearboxes- I'm going to have to go into the rear gearbox again- Oh well- I'm going to assume this is not normal and proceed, with checking this out.

Very nice mate and some top tips as ever. It's odd that in a lot of ways it's a premium kit with all the bits and bobs like the stabiliser bars and then it's got that really weak spot. At least you have invented a work around. I spotted a little mistake that you edited around as that front stabiliser bar was above the upper arm on the right and then as if by magic it was right in the next shot. You see I do pay attention. I've had things like that in my videos and hope there isn't someone like me pointing it out! Anyway looking good so far. I've just had the Dump Truck delivered from Time Tunnel. Still got the Brat hard body to paint so I can finish that and finish the video. Anyway hope all is well with you and yours 😀
@MarkBryanRC4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Pete. Hehe - you eagle-eyed chap! Caught me red handed! Yes, I was focusing so much on the side I was doing I didn't notice the other side was in the wrong position, but spent so much time filming and editing that I couldn't face going back and filming it again, just hoped nobody would notice! Well done, and thanks for paying so much attention, I really am thankful of that! Great you got the dump truck, is it the black special edition? I was eyeing that one too, but at 3 cars in 2 months I've hit my limit for a while! All good here mate, slowly working through little (and BIG) jobs in the garden, just 2 more 50ft high trees to chop down to a manageable height! Hope all is good with you too, catch you later matey! :)
@PeteWylieRC4 жыл бұрын
@@MarkBryanRC it's so easy to make these little mistakes and usually nobody it watching! I have bought the standard yellow (actually looks more orange) Dump Truck. I have got an awful lot of black RC cars as it's my go to basher colour for lexan shells. Also the black one comes with various chromed plastic parts and I'm always suspicious that it's more brittle than the normal plastic. The bright yellow/orange should be easy to spot from a distance. Sounds like you've got plenty of work in the garden to be getting on with. Luckily for me the garden is mainly Saran's area of expertise. I only really use it for having a bit of a sit down! Anyway we'll all have some nice new toys to play with when the government let's us go out. I wonder if they will change any rules this week. I predict that they will specifically say it's ok to go out and play with RC cars! Fingers crossed 🤞😁
@MarkBryanRC4 жыл бұрын
You got that right! At least you were watching so I'm happy about that. I get what you are saying about the black cars, and yeah I think the chrome plastics are very brittle and prone to cracking. I've cut down one of those trees and doing the other today, but it's so much to chop up into manageable pieces. I ache all over from using muscles that have been dormant for years! Hmmm - not sure it's time to lift the lockdown, except the new rule for running RC's of course - we will see matey! :)
@PeteWylieRC4 жыл бұрын
@@MarkBryanRC when I said that usually nobody is watching, I meant when you are doing a build on your own without making a video. I didn't mean that nobody is watching your build videos because obviously they are! Anyway I'm getting a bit fed up with editing the Brat build and it isn't attracting big views so I think the next build video will just be a fast forward one like I did with the Racing Fighter. That tree cutting sounds like hard work. Have you got a chain saw? What a palaver. Still, good way to stay fit during lockdown. Yeah I don't think that the lockdown will change very much apart from them specifically saying that you are allowed to take an RC car for a walk as if it was a dog 😀 Somebody on telly was making a good point in that the curve is at different stages in different parts of the country so it's very difficult to have one set of rules for everyone. I guess it would be complicated if there were different rules in different counties. Anyway meantime I'll see what happens with work. Just hoping that they don't take the opportunity to make a few redundancies while business is struggling. We shall see. Anyway another lovely day today. Hope you are having a good one apart from all the hard work 😁

Ahhh - sorry mate - the printed word hides true meaning so many times, it's very difficult sometimes, but thanks, I get your drift! Glad you watched it all anyway my friend! Oh yeah, these build guides are so much work, I don't know why I bother sometimes, but then I get some nice comments and it's all worth it in the end. Stick with it Pete, you are really good at it and the views will come. Yeah, I used a chainsaw and Sh*t myself so resorted to the handsaw! As you say, giving me some much needed exercise. Yeah, it's gonna take a while to sort out this mess before we get to normal - I see you are going back to work - good on ya mate and look after yourself! :))
