A great continuation and update of this experiment lads. Obviously actually driving the car gives the best feel and impression of the difference the new shocks made, but the performance looked good on video and more noticeable on the rough terrain in slo-mo. I'm enjoying these Mark. Looking forward to part 3. : )

Thanks my mate! Yeah, great fun and lots of mileage in this TT vs XV experiment! The upgraded TT is miles better than stock, but in my opinion the XV is still in the lead by a long way, as you say, you need to drive them to feel the difference! Very late to the party but I spotted some additional upgrades on the TT02: Aluminum half shafts (dog bones), aluminum rear uprights with more toe-in, in addition to the upgrades mentioned. The XV-01 Delta Integrale is my favorite car to drive out of an extensive collection of Tamiya RC cars/chassis. Great series, I am watching every episode. Did I say I LOVE the XV-01? Its perfect right out of the box.

Hello! I'm very glad you came to the party! Wow, you have a keen eye and spotted those extra mods! You are correct! Hehe, yes, I know you love the XV-01, as do I. 😁👍 nice update, want more steering from it? use lighter oil in the front shocks, try first softer springs on the front and maybe stiffer rear springs o use the shock spacers to adjust then by putting some in the rear and taking them out of the front shocks if they have them in. last try thinner oil in the front.

Hi Mark, I've some troubles with the steering angle on my Xv-01, I'm not able to get the maximum ride in both directions. Do you have a tutorial or link to some guide... May be changing the position of the servo?
@MarkBryanRC3 жыл бұрын
Hi - sorry, I don't have a guide for this problem. Is it the servo that is limiting the travel, or is it the steering linkage? Sounds like the servo may not be centred correctly. To check, take off the servo horn (servo saver) and set the steering on your transmitter to centre position with power turned on. Then turn off the power and reconnect the servo saver. Hope this helps! :)

Another very informative Video my good Friends!! Many of us fanatics are too familiar with the TT-02 and it's shortcomings... It's a good, quite versatile platform. But, like all "Jack of all trades" things, it can't do anything brilliantly. The Community owes you and Rob a debt, for all your work and shared Skill in this Hobby!!! 🍻🍻👍👍👏👏👏👏 I feel remiss, in that I've come up with some decent ideas for improving the TT-02 as well, but haven't been able to share any of them. 😢 Hopefully, 2019 will somehow bring me the means to post Videos again. I've already been Humbled beyond belief, at what a few amazing People have done for us, this Christmas Season!!! I got a SCX10 II RAW Builder's Kit, a Jeep Comanche Body, and hop-up bits!! My In-laws got me *a Bloody Drone* for Christmas!!! I SHOULD be able to make decent Videos..... AFTER I can somehow get SD Cards and a GoPro. Tall Order when I'm still having trouble FEEDING my Family... Back to the TT-02 - I've got 6mm more Suspension Travel, better weight distribution, giving FAR better Handling tan Stock!! I can't WAIT to share my findings. Even GETTING an XV-01, given the HIGH PRICE INCREASE of Tamiya Products in the United States, is nearly IMPOSSIBLE for me... (And the first time I see THAT kind of money, I'm GETTING a Wild One!!!!!!!) 😱 The XV-01 HERE, is nearly $400.00!!! 😣😫😮😞 But, as far as Rally Chassis's are concerned, that's the Benchmark. My TT-02 also got Yeah! Racing 60mm Dampers. But, with the increased travel, I'll need replacing them with 65-70mm Dampers. Likely from the same Company as these are quite impressive. I'll likely need at least a front Swaybar Kit as well. Of course - what it needs primarily, is a BLOODY BODY!!! Hopefully someday...... Cheers, Carmine 💥 ⛽
@MarkBryanRC6 жыл бұрын
Hi Carmine! Yes, it would be great to have you here by our side to give an insight into your knowledge about the TT02 - we are still learning! Suck it and see, as they say! Man, you have some very cool presents! Awesome! Lots to keep your fingers busy with in the coming weeks! Forget the GoPro for now, just borrow a smartphone and get filming mate! The cameras on them are amazing these days, as I am sure you know! We need to see a new Carmine video so I can give YOU a thumbs up or three! OMG - my XV01 was only £200 GBP! What a difference. Well it is while we are still in the EU, but that could all change soon and I'll have to buy some Banggood cars - haha! Cheers matey!!!
@CarminesRCTipsandTricks6 жыл бұрын
THAT is a considerable difference in Price!!!! 😱 That would STILL only be $260-270USD!! I DEFINITELY need to borrow a Smartphone from someone.... There's SOMETHING that I can share. AND, I'd LOVE to share the SCX10 II Build, and Bodywork with custom Interior!! "Suck it and see".... That's a Builder's Mantra in the Colonies as well. 😉😅 To be there with you and Rob, would be so pleasant!!! IF that were possible, I'd have a Lancia Body as well - and could film them as a comparison Threesome!! 👍👍🍻🍻🍻 Then we could hit the Pub - and I would cause an International Incident!!! 😜😎😂😂😂😂😂 Seriously, I really want to show you guys the TT-02 Control Arms Mod. It's ridiculously simple, yet hard to explain. You can FEEL the extra 6mm of Suspension Travel... If I could afford GOOD Dampers, the difference between Stock would be staggering!! ...... I thought you guys already voted to break from the EU. There will have to be some Price Stabilisation, but if History proves anything, an independent England will be STRONG!
@MarkBryanRC6 жыл бұрын
Hey mate - that 3 Lancia video would be a killer! Not sure my poor old GoPro could survive being hit by 3 cars though! Hitting a pub would be awesome - I can imagine it now, it would be pretty LOUD!!! I hope you find a way to show us those TT-02 mods, it's good to share! Don't start me on the EU thing, too much pissing about and nothing really happening!
@CarminesRCTipsandTricks6 жыл бұрын
IF I could get a Lancia Body.... YOU would have to finish it!! 😱 I consider myself a decent Painter, and I can dress up a Body a bit with some Decals.... But when it comes to intricate, complex, Box Art stuff..... I completely stuff it!!! 😵😞 In ALL my Tamiya Builds over 37 Years, I have not once fixed ALL Decals, in the correct position, on ANY Vehicle I've ever Built! I promise not to start WWIII in the Pub. I CAN'T promise Quiet..... or Sober! 😎🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻 I may be an Italian primarily, but me Mum was half Irish - and I got Her LIVER!!!! 😊😎😅😂

The TT-02 has some massive toe in. Try to change for a slight toe out. On 4wd cars the drive force on the front wheels pulls them inwards, causing you to effectively have stabilizing effect anyway.
@MarkBryanRC5 жыл бұрын
Hello Schutt! Yes, the TT02 has too much toe-in in this video - but it does look worse than in reality due to the wide-angle lens! This has since been adjusted. You make a good point about the effects of 4WD on stability, I appreciate your positive and helpful comments very much my friend. :-)

Hi Mark I like your videos. But one question which chassis TT02/XV01 do you think when it comes to looks like rallycar?
@MarkBryanRC4 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much! Hmm - I think overall, the XV01 is better because it was designed as a rally chassis from the outset. But it is more expensive, and the TT02 can be made to go very well as a rally chassis if you spend a little money on upgrading it! :)
@bagspannaren14104 жыл бұрын
Thanks I saw a video on the TT02R that was promising I think I will go for that what do you think?
@MarkBryanRC4 жыл бұрын
@@bagspannaren1410 Well - I also looked at the TT02R, but was not impressed by the suspension for rally running. The TT02S won for me due to it's longer suspension arms and steel pivots, plus the C-hub steering, all very similar to the XV01. It's also easier to adapt for more ground clearance. I'd go for the TT02S if you can find a kit available. :)
