Good day Mark! Good intro! Yeah, the smile on the face is a good thing 🙂 Great to see the hobby house with the cars in the back ground. What was the last remark about? Think there is a joke that I missed out on 😊 Anyways, top job with the overview and review. Wish my FAV was a Wild One - even with the oil leaking, the FRP rubbing and the lexan flapping 😊

Goddag, Mikael! And many thanks for catching up on my uploads. 👍 Yeah, if a Tamiya can't make you smile, something is definitely amiss! As you can tell, I love this buggy, after Rob got his and let me drive it, I had to have one as soon as it became available at my favourite model store. Yes, even with those little niggles. Oh, the last remark - it's a reference to an old UK comedy sketch show, called "The Fast Show". It was made up of many, very short comedy sketches, each with a unique character who had their own catchphrase. This was one of the catchphrases - the original character had the same dialect as me! 👍😎

Hiya matey. Great intro! Be great to play us out with a tune too 😁 Anyway great review. I think that Tamiya are taking the Mick a bit with the price of the Blockhead version. It has got side netting which is well worth £50! I think the thing to do with that is to buy it and leave it boxed for 10 years. Anyway I'm pretty pleased with my rere FAV with the shocks. Cheers for the mention. The visible wire thing on RC's always annoys me. Nice Fast Show reference at the end too 😁 Top work mate. Cheers for now 😀

Hiya mate! Haha, glad you enjoyed my bad guitar playing, it's been a while since I last took out the 6 string! Anyway, thanks for the inspiration with your recent Fast Attack video, it gave me something to focus on. I agree, the Blockhead version is a pure rip-off, just a few different coloured parts and a bit of netting. But it sure will get a few quid if you wait a couple of years, not my thing really. Always glad to mention you mate, we have a lot in common. I thought the Fast Show needed doing as I'm a Brummie - knew you'd get it straight away! Sleep tight, matey! 😉👍

My original Wild One doesn't have the hole for the battery wire out the side. I run mine inside the body so never had that issue. This and the FAV a real favourite of mine. I popped in to a garage and they kindly gave me some wheel weights which I added to the front of the chassis to add weight. 👍🏼
@MarkBryanRC
@MarkBryanRC 3 жыл бұрын
Hi - yes, I think I might copy that way of routing the battery wire! Agreed, this buggy and the FAV are special little Tamiyas. Interesting that you added weight to the front of yours, I thought of that but was worried it would slow it down! All the best - cheers! 😊👍

Hi Mark, looking good my friend. Great review of the Wild One. I’m on the hunt for a 2WD Tamiya for when I’m in recovery mode in September. I’ve got to have an umbilical hernia repair and gallbladder removal performed! Got a season ticket for hospitals! Anyway, have looked at the Blitzer Beetle, but Tamiya stocks are low. I’ll take a look at the Wild One once more, but again Tamiya stocks are low, it’s crazy! As always great video content, guitars at the start and that elusive ending, great stuff! Loved the pros and cons of the kit, but in the end, fun factor always wins! That’s what we do this for. Take care, all the best my friend 👌😉

With superb design, excellent craftsmanship, top-notch engineering and stunning good looks, I can honestly say I am a big fan of the Fender Stratocaster...😂 - I bet you walked straight into that one didn't you Mate..🤣 ? Couldn't resist that one. But hey don't be apologising for that intro, it was cool - and a left hand player too. Excellent stuff. Yeah, you make some good points about this buggy. I'm glad you mentioned about the unsightly, exposed battery connector as I've mentioned that before to you. Also the fact that Tamiya don't add bearings to their kits as standard is just ridiculous - I bet these days they come as standard on Chinese RTR's. But ultimately this one is a real looker of a buggy and based on your previous run videos, a total hoot to drive. Yeah things will occasionally go wrong, but that's RC for you. Great review mate and good to catch you midweek too...👍🏻👍🏻.

Glad you liked the intro - I'm a bit rusty but thought it would be something a little different. As for the battery lead, I'll look at re-routing it when I get a chance. No bearings on the £220+ Blockhead version is a bit of a joke - and yeah, my £50 HBX has full bearings and 2 LiPo's!!! Nice one Mark, great review! I do like the look of these and it's nice to hear the bad as well as the good (especially from someone as knowledgeable as you). Plus I'm sure I spotted Rangie up there... enjoyed the Fast Show reference, too! 😎👍

Cheers, Steve! Glad I got this one when I did, they are all on pre-order this time round! Ah, yes there is good and bad in all things in life, but when it comes to Tamiya it's mostly good when I'm wearing my rose tinted glasses! And yeah, Rangie was on top of the racking on the left of shot. Need to take her out again soon. You ain't seen me, roit! 👍😃

I think where the battery tray goes in it is also going to be metal on the sides I could be wrong about that but that's what it look like in the video if you've seen the new video haven't you?

Absolutely, Paul! It depends how quickly they sell out as to how quickly they increase in value, though. If only very limited numbers come, they will become highly sought after almost immediately!

Yup, when you saw this one and a few others. There was no mistaken that they were a Tamiya. THIS is certainly one of 'em. Some interesting points about this rig. like the battery tray. That was an interesting choice. I can obviously see that being a problem. not sure why the engineers didn't. But space was certainly limited in these buggies. lol Never knew the body clipped on the cage there like that either . Great overview there Mark. Yeah I can see why people would want one for sure.. :)
@MarkBryanRC

Hi Nick - yep, this buggy has Tamiya written all over it in terms of design and looks! I think the engineers were basically lazy when it came to some of the design features! Glad you enjoyed the review, I appreciate you watching and interesting comment, buddy. All the best and take care out there! 😊👍

Ah, Mark, that was cool with the guitar, now I'm expecting you play a tune at the start of each video! Yeah, the Wild One, it's been discussed a lot, I think I have to leave it to the real enthusiasts. I have this silly plan to make a fake FAV, so hopefully someday I manage that... Regarding the battery bay, would you add some velcro? It usually stops them from sliding and prevents the wear...
@MarkBryanRC
@MarkBryanRC 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mads - thanks for the supportive words, especially about my rusty guitar playing! I just might do some more... And that FAV sounds like a project I'd love to see. Velcro - Hmmm - why didn't I think of that? Hehe, but yeah, I should put some protection on that FRP part! Hope you are well, catch ya later, mate! 😊👍

I love my Wild One , too. - 2012 edition. I hope, the new LED buggy lights, that come with the Blockhead One, will be available separately! Do you think, we get a chassis molded in blue? In general, Tamiya should offer spares in different colours more often. The original red cage limits the design options quite a bit - didn't buy a black one though, that came with the shark FAV.
@MarkBryanRC
@MarkBryanRC 3 жыл бұрын
Same here - love my re-re! Not sure about the LEDs, haven't seen a picture with them lit up. I think the chassis is black and you get the blue stickers for the sides, could be wrong! Yeah, more coloured parts would be cool, too. Thanks for the comment, all the best from Mark... 😊👍

Thanks Mark, great review. I like the Wild one ,reminds me of my kyosho ultima. The modern rcs just never look as good as the old stuff. Wife just bought me an Escort custom Tt02. Now I have 4 to build but the Escort gets the best of everything. We never got these later Escorts in Australia and it's a real shame . They are a decent looking car and can only imagine how good the Cosworth ones go. EBay will run out of Tt02 hopups when I build so many Tt02s ! Wife is building a Tt02, it's her first build. Hopefully she doesn't get addicted more than what she already is. Take care mate and keep the videos coming.

This is one of my favorite buggies. I like the old VW based modified tube frame buggies. The shocks look great, maybe slightly bigger o-rings would help the oil leak. The suspension does mimic the old vw based mechanics. Nice review, liked the guitar riff intro. You are a man with many talents👍🏾
@MarkBryanRC
@MarkBryanRC 3 жыл бұрын
Right on, Paul - we agree about the cool frame buggies totally! I think a change of O rings is in order, too, fingers crossed that might work. Thanks for the nod on the intro - I wasn't sure if it would go down well! I'm still rusty, but want to get back into the playing again! Best to you, my friend. 👍😃

Hi Mark! You should do a video where the background music is your awesome guitar solo. Also try putting two o-rings if there is space. It may slow down the leak 😀

Hi Schutt - yeah, the stock tyres are very hard and not suited to tarmac. Maybe you can find some road tyres to fit the stock wheels. I know that Louise do a few buggy on-road wheels and tyres that might fit with an adapter. I think they are called Louise Rocket.
