Tamiya has changed a lot over the years When I was a teen in 1986 I built and upgraded nearly everything. I had aluminum two piece wheels, titanium frame, adjustable gas shocks and all the linkages where aluminum etc, etc. I haven’t had one in 25 years do they still make metal aftermarket parts for those buggies?

After looking around, I think I'm going to get a Sand Viper for my son to build for his 1st kit that he'll truly do on his own. He'll be 10 next year and until now, he's just been watching me build and run RCs. I really would like him to get into it himself. I'll even get him his own Tamiya tool kit. I was going to get a GH2 or a Hornet, but those are just for me and my Tamiya experience; this one will be his Tamiya memories for years to come.
