For all you haters Tammy Faye was a lovely woman, she grew up dirt poor in rural Minnesota in a house with no running water or indoor plumbing. Sure she may have enjoyed some of the spoils of having being part of the largest televangelist empire of the 20th century but she understood the struggle and didn't forget where she came from! Her husband was the one that made shady business deals not her, she worried they were getting in over their heads but she let her husband handle it. He basically used her for her entertaining and bubbly personality on TV. She didn't judge and loved and excepted everyone and was a huge supporter of the LGBT community and showed love and support for everyone regardless of what walk of life they came from.....I'm not religious but I think she upheld the Christian values of love and acceptance much better than the close minded bigoted Christians of today!

While I do agree, there are some points that were too much, Tammy also knew what she was signing up for, and she was aware she could be joked about, she laughed at the jokes about her. That was Tammy…never taking it too seriously.

Tammy was guilty of nothing as she didn't know about the adultery or the blackmail she also was not involved with the financial at PTL. I think this is why most of the world embraced her. She frequently on Larry King, David Letterman, Roseanne other talk shows and was offered talk shows and also acting jobs on Drew Carry Show and cameo appearances. Jim let his mistakes destroy his family. Tammy talks pretty candid in the movie "The Eyes of Tammy Faye" Rightfully she divorced him but only then to have the entire church world judge her and said divorce was wrong.

yeah from most accounts i've seen (not just tammy's, but other people's accounts), tammy wasn't really in charge of the finances or even really aware of what was going on.. i mean yeah, she shopped, but the bakkers were from the old school where men controlled the money, controlled their wives, etc.. in the movie it showed she started to worry they were getting in over their heads when jim started building the hotels, etc, but i doubt she ever so much as balanced a checkbook in that marriage..

Living stateside so long now, I have no real idea of who Ruby Wax is. She seems to have a foothold in the UK, never heard of her here. While the Bakkers were obviously over top with their spending habits. I believe Tammy Faye was an loving all inclusive spiritual woman. Where other religions would turn others away, they did not. She (strange as she appeared) had an innocence about her and I think she meant well. R.I.P. Not a churchgoer; however, liked her love of all people and life.

Tammy is genuine through in through. She looked beyond all our faults like jesus loved her. Solomon was the richest man. God is not against money. God is who tammy loved not money. She lived to know jesus she died to jesus and she tried to love us through jesus. Cast the first stone if u where not born in sin. David sinned with bathsheba like jim fell short but david repented so did jim. God remains faithful to sinners and continues to lead us in the way we ought to go. We learn along the way. There hearts where not to fraud anyone they gave all to way they where doing. Learn from there lives and I miss tammy. Shame shame for trying to make fun of her. God only has fallen vessels to use.
