What makes this song SO great is that you can see she is singing from her heart and, experience. In pain, she holds herself in dignity and class. I wish she was still with us. I heard a few years ago that out of all the country songs ever written, this one, was picked to represent what 'is' country music. And, it really is.

When my daddy was alive he always play this song. Every time we got in the car, the house during Sunday dinners etc. It drove my mom and everyone else crazy. I can say for my mother and 4 brothers and sister, every time hear this song it makes us crazy and happy all at the same time! 11/25/06 Miss You, Daddy

as far as I know the performances that are popular she didn't appear to lip sync any of it. All of them have varying small changes in her voice in them leading me to believe they were all legitimately sang. She was good. She made every note look effortless to sing. She just simply sang with a lot of grace.

Such a beautiful lady, taken from us way too soon. Drugs can wreck the lives of even the best of people. God Bless you, Tammy, wherever you are.

Just think of how much that got lost because Gifts like Tammy Wynette,Bobby Bare,Connie smith,Bill Anderson etc didnt get recorded with a natural backup, just to satisfy the Pop marked. Its so sad but its a Real pleasure to hear Tammy like this.So much more of her deep wisdom shines in this performance with natural backing. God Bless the True sound of Country music.

I'm not worthy. I could never be a good enough man for a woman like Tammy Wynette. But I would like to have tried. Actually she was that type of hot lady that made me understand that even though I was a confused little squirt, I knew one thing for sure. I loved women that looked good and could tell you a good story. What a freakin' voice she had! A timeless talent that everyone should enjoy and respect. That was the country music I hated as a kid. Now I love it, and hate the new crap. You?
