1962-1966 red & 1967-1970 blue covers are the greatest hits you are looking for. Take care and happy hunting my friend 😎👍

At any Beatles album you will enjoy. But I know you like the psychedelic music cause I remember seeing your iron butterfly album. So I'm looking to get in revolver and sergeant peppers to start with.

Yes, Chris; I was thinking the same thing regarding those red and blue compilation album sets. There's also 'The Beatles Greatest Hits' LP which I bought for two bucks at a thrift store which is pretty much the same track list as The Beatles' '1' album compilation on LP or CD that was released many years ago.

Hello Mr. Recordology, thanks fot the shout out! In addition to the 1962 - 1970's albums, there are a couple of German Hits LP's and a UK hits album that are around and not too expensive. The Beatles changed so much every year that where to start is actually a personal preference. Grand Award records was Enoch Light's first label prior to Cpmmand and Phase 3. Audiophile yes. Good luck and take care...

If you are looking to get started with The Beatles, I recommend you start with these: The Red Album: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1962%E2%80%931966 The Blue Album: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1967%E2%80%931970 They are both double LPs compilation albums that will give you a good sense of their evolution as writers and musicians. These are easy to find and not that expensive.

I see some good stuff being passed over in those crates. You will be surprised what is buried between those more expensive albums.

When we lived in St. Pete/Clearwater in the 80's and 90's I never missed a show. I bought some off the wall records I'd been looking for and got to know some of the dealers that acutely gave some. I bought a box set on Japanese Sony vinyl, For Japanese Fans Only Elvis Presley. The box was rough but the vinyl looked and sounded like they had never been on a table. It cost a big ole $5.00. Jim

Another great video! I'm the same as you with the Beatles, I didn't know where to begin. I found a great deal on a vintage Beatles Abbey Road last year and bought it but I'm not sure what's next.

I agree with the other person who told you that The Beatles 1962-1966 (the red album) and The Beatles 1967-1970 (the blue album) is what you want to get. I could be wrong, but I believe they were reissued a few years ago, if my memory is correct (which can be highly doubtful).

I think you should start with the Beatles Red album: 1962- 66 and then the Blue album: 1967-70. That’s where I started when I first started listening to them in 1973. It’ll give you an all-around picture and then you could start with the individual albums.

Also: The Beatles owned Apple records usually had the A side of a 45 RPM single with the outside of the apple to show it was the A side, and the inside of the apple for the B side. That made it really easy to tell which was which!!!

Not always true though. The single of Something/Come Together is considered a Double A Side, but with the Green/Sliced Apple labels. And there’s one Ringo Starr single with the standard Apple labels that is blue, not green….not to mention the various custom labels for other Ringo singles.

It is expensive but The Beatles #1 a collection of their number one hits is a good start/finishing point. As mentioned in earlier comments, the Red, and Blue albums are a good way to gather a greatest hits collection and they may be cheaper. If you search long enough, there were some that were pressed in translucent colors, red and blue. I could kick myself for passing on a red copy.

The Beatles only released 13 albums - those 13 plus the Past Masters 1 & 2 (15 in all) on CD would get you everything The Beatles released. You could catch up with Anthology/Live at the BBC, etc. at some other time. At 4$ each - you'd own their catalog for much less than I paid for 3 of them when first released! Also, the Ernst Tubb record store is shutting down this year. Sad time.

I have the John Lennon 45, but it's not marbled, it's just green. I didn't know that some were. Is it a reissue?

No. Some color vinyl will, for some reason, start to change color as the disc ages. What is seen in this video is a mild case. There are other cases where the record started out as Gold/Yellow vinyl, but over time turned into a Brown/Black color (some of the Abnak singles that were pressed on Yellow especially did this, as did certain pressings of Grand Funk’s “We’re An American Band” single and album.)

I could not have passed up "The Flintstones" and "Huckleberry Hound", lol. I would have spent at least $1,000 in that situation.
