People used to hate on Bastien for being so cocky, but every skater knows how hard they've worked to get where they are, you can tell he was always hard on himself and had a good time with it when he was happy with his skating. I'm happy to see him still ripping to this day even if he's doing similar tricks to back then.

When my son was about 11 years old he entered a Jaycee Relay Race. He’d never ran track before and didn’t know everybody wore shorts. He came in jeans, to everyone’s amusement. He ran the last leg for his team - and came away the fastest runner of the day, and made up considerable distance to win. This video made me think of that day. How I wish I had been able to see it, instead of only hear and read about it. I was a single mom and had to work. My son was an amazing athlete. ❤️

just feel like throwing out a few noteables from this legend... it would be a crime to call him anything less... those who disagree most likely were not alive yet, or hand't started skating by the time he first hit the scene... people nowadays like to talk about nyjah being the first of his kind and this and that, but let's not forget when regarding to contests, nyjah was not the first to dominate... there once was a young gun named bastien who came over to the US (after destroying europe) and taking 1st in every contest... and I'm nearly 100% positive that I remember correctly when I also say he started doing so at a younger age than nyjah when he did... people get too caught up in the hype with whatever's going on in present day, not to knock all the progression and equally amazing skating that just so happens to be! however...I'd just like to remind those who may have forgotten over the years as well as give a lesson to those unaware of the fact that he had his own hand in progressing skateboarding and should always be in high regards when talking about the ones that did just that, respectively in their era of skating...! Just a few notables of his consist of.....dude being the first to ever to do a tre flip front board & a full-cab flip front board on a handrail in skateboarding.... nevermind the INSANE kickflip front board on a 16 stair handrail for his last trick in Sorry... I still don't know if I've seen anyone do that trick on a bigger handrail to this day...definitely still holds up during this day in age, which coincides with the point that's been made I'd say... Hope Bastien is currently able to start stacking some footy as of now, or is almost fully recovered from the most recent injury! Get well homie! Cheers!
