Ok, soo, I had to download the firmware from reddit. I bought a 8gb thumb drive off of ebay. I formatted the drive with FAT32 (not the exFat that the video shows) and I had to uncheck the "quick format" option. I then renamed the unzipped firmware file to install.img and copied it onto the thumb drive. Then I unplugged the TV and held down the power button for 30 seconds to drain the power from it. Moment of truth, I plugged the thumb drive into the USB slot, and plugged the power cord back into the TV. I did not press any buttons. After 3 seconds, the power light on the front of the TV started flashing and blinking white. This continued for about 10 - 15 minutes till the TV turned it's self back on and went into setup mode. After setting up the language and timezone, it works. I took the USB out. Golden.

Thanks for this! My Sharp Aquos 55LE653U was stuck in an endless reboot cycle. It was not getting far enough into the boot cycle to recognize the set of button presses to bring up the factory service mode. After inserting the flash drive with the firmware file, the instructions from Sharp said just to restore power by plugging back in and wait for the white front power light to begin blinking, indicating a firmware update in-progress. There was nothing displayed on the TV during the update. The update took 3 minutes, after which the TV rebooted and came up in the initial setup menu. Fixed! Sharp requires one additional step with my model: With TV powered on, use remote to enter "MENU-2489". This brings up the service menu. Navigate to Setup/Clean Storage and select "YES". I believe this clears out the EEPROM settings. Power off and on to restore normal operation

Hey Tampatec, I'v been stuck on this Sony Kdl-75w850c. It started out with 6 red blinks which watching your videos and others figured out it was the light strips but put in a new power supply board anew t-con and a new main board because it's my mom and dad's TV. which I will never do again, this TV has been in my living room for months now and I'm having nightmares about this TV. Now I have to put the new firmware on the new main board But I have no back-light. Do I have to put the firmware on the TV before I tear down this xoxo I mean this nice Sony of my mom's. Whooohoo. Had my Sharp Aquos for 2 years... it was stuck on the Sharp Logo screen. It would not turn off unless unplugging. Tried all the resets for TV. They did not work .. This works, did not have to take off the back off TV. Just plugged the USB in n the TV reset.. After that just input all the stuff, when you first got the TV (antenna, time, type of wireless)... 👍what a relief 😅.. didn't have to watch how to change motherboard

Just hope it works for this LCD Television of mine. I think it has other issues, too. Set goes off in about 10 minutes, then you get 6 flashing lights, pause then 6 flashing lights. It's continuous and the set won't come on unless you unplug it to let whatever is heating up cool off. I think it's diodes. No bad caps noted

1st thanks for video! 1st time and Could not have done it without it. Here my experience maybe can help someone. Father in law 65” Aquos froze on SHARP logo at power up. Went to Sharp support and lady knew issue right away (common problem)e-mailed me latest firmware with instructions. Tried multiple times first with 2gig SDH card inside adapter no luck. Luckily found 8 Gig USB stick(instructions said 2-8) and could see light on it blinking while uploading. Still did not work after a couple times. Final time started the upload and took a nap. About an hour later went back and TV was in setup mode. Evidently wasn’t giving it enough time even though I waited until the USB stopped blinking. Or maybe it was the nap?

Hi! Thanks for the vid! My 3d tv (un55d7000) keeps turning off and on. I have about 15 to 20 seconds once it turns itself on to do stuff with the menu and then it locks (can't even change the volume) for like 10 to 12 seconds before it turns off again. All this "ad infinitum" Do you think if I plug in the usb with the update before I do the hard reset it might give enough time to for the tv to update itself?

Thanks for your videos. They are very good and very informative. I am trying to avoid replacing the board on my 60" Sharp Aquos. Sharp sent me two firmware files and instructions to manually install the files not using the menu. Instead, they have me doing a series of steps and to be honest, their support isn't great. The steps they sent me was 1) unplug 2) power on the tv 3) hold the power button to shut it off and keep it held for about 5 seconds until the triangle flashes on and off then release power button. Then press the power button AND the Channel (whatever that means) at the same time to initiate the install of the USB firmware.. That doesn't work, it just turns the tv back on. Any ideas? the menu update doesn't work.. It is a sharp model number LC-60LE810UN. They had to send me the firmware, it doesn't exist on their website

I updated my 2012 32"Samsung HDTV (not smart, using as a second mac monitor) firmware via USB. Got the update from Samsung's website. Turns out the firmware on the TV (same as when purchased in 2012) was already more up to date than the update on the website in 2020. Now my TV doesn't work at all, not even as a monitor. Remote still turns TV on and off, back light works, but no other remote graphic. Any suggestions? Did I brick it?

Hi Im sorry to revive your post but I was searching for something like this. I have bricked my samsung tv by going to service menu and selecting micom upgrade option, then it was allways on waiting and without thinking cause I should know better from experience with bios upgrades on laptops I turned the power off. result tv completly dead, I have tried to short the eeprom by connecting vcc to sda with no success, but also from my experience with computers I think that should be some way to force the board to load the firmware from a usb or service cable or even from and external floppy. Do you have any tip or idea on how to solve this? thnk you in advance and I would appreciate any help I could get with this

Hi did you ever fix it.. I'm having a similar problem. The tv turns on but only if i hold the power button for like 5 to 10 seconds and it shows the power on screen and just goes black with no sound or picture.. I've tried to reset it and everything but can't anything to show at all. I tried with the usb update as well and wasn't successful. The backlight still works and the tv show a very dim black screen.. when i take a flashlight to the screen i cant see anything either. Help please and thank you

Hi, I updated the software on my Grundig (Tv 40 VLE 8270 WP) with the wrong software from (GRUNDIG New York 40 S WEB) and after updating I get no further picture.
