"survival" is about your environment now bc visibility is there. it most certainly was not 20+yes ago. a closeted athlete has concerns greater than those an interview can solve. he is a junior and graduation is approaching. what better way to increase employability than to establish yourself as a brand?

Good for him and as a gay man I am extremely proud of him because that took a great deal of courage. I came out at 17 in London in the 90’s and it was hard then. But I never felt it hard. I found it liberating

Try coming out in the 60's or 70's. Now that's hard.

You're a hero, kid. Most players hide, and if they do make it known, it's yrs after they retire. Somebody has to be FIRST. Somebody has to have the courage, be the hero, pave the way for others. Congrats, kiddo. And good luck with your future.
