Volunteer are rude and arrogant when dealing with residents on meetpeople session in boonlay also. Tye sessions are useless don't waste your times waiting settle the problem on your own is faster and better. Don't count on these useless meetings.

MPs are there to serve the resident. If every MP need body guard then what's the purpose of having MP. They are just wasting resident tax payer 💰

I personally witness 3 different MPS by different MPs. some volunteers are truly empathetic, tactful & serving while others r high handed, dismissive and aggressive like plp r trying to see the king. I guess it's how the leadership of the day truly serves the plp. the rest will fall in line

Yes we just need opposition. We don't need new government. We just have to make sure other parties get in just to supervise the government.

This because the Mayor is first elected through partisan political processes and then appointed to the position of Mayor by the ruling party.

The non-elected nature of the CDCs and Mayors means that Singaporeans are deprived of their right to have a say in how their CDC is run and do not have the full range of feedback

As the programme agenda and terms of engagement are pre-defined by the CDC management, this can be alienating to Singaporeans who would like to get involved in grassroots activities without getting into partisan politics and work alongside a Mayor who has been elected and not selected through a political election.

Why should we show tact or empathy? I remember when I was assaulted by my maid and her employer, the FSC didn’t show any emotional support or address the issues. So, when we didn’t get a response and things escalated, our last resort was to send a lawyer for help.❤

You were assaulted by my maid and her employer? Thats funny, because if its YOUR maid, then shouldn't the employer be You yourself ? You approached a lawyer to sue yourself for assault then?

@@sihanchen7552 The maid is paid by another family member, so she’s not my employer, even though we live in the same house. The police told me to either fire the maid or they’ll involve MOM and proceed with the police report, along with my video evidence.

Of course violence is never the solution but writing letter after letter doesn't help matters except creating expectations and angst when request is rejected by the ministry. A frank appraisal and upfront approach would have been better when the MP knows that the request would be rejected by the relevant agency or ministry.

There is no need to call the police. Only a half-past-six MP will resort to this at the first sign of commotion. Calling the police is unnecessary and unhelpful and worsen the situation, especially at the meet-the-people session. MP who wants to assert their power this way to the little people should just stay safe and cozy at home.

It’s a waste of time going to meet the people session to see MPs. Most often MPs cannot do much to render any assistance to residents who have problems.

when people are really helped, why wld they turn aggressive. perhaps it's the wayang and lip svc that plp hv had enough. old days mps, lp r so grateful to be helped unlike nowsadays
