Yeah. Since Chunky is so slow and heavy (well, chunky, lol) is hard to think that he can even get to the ship. But when I saw that door-like thing on floor when I was a kid, I thought it could be slam-opened. So I try with every kong. Chunky was the one for that.

Gloomy Galleon reminds me of Treasure Trove Cove and Jolly Roger's Lagoon: they are all beach levels and have wrecked ships (though TTC has only one wrecked ships. Like Jolly Roger's Lagoon, Gloomy Galleon has breathable water. Plus, the mechanical fish reminds me of the big fish that swallowed Merry Maggie Malpass.

1:37:49-1:37:57 Gloomy Galleon may not be my favourite level in Donkey Kong 64, but I absolutely love the little moment within the level where Chunky Kong picks up a cannonball, and can defeat the Kasplat with only one hit with the cannonball. It is absolutely hilarious. Why do I find it so funny? Usually, it takes more than one hit to defeat a Kasplat, as they are enemies who endure several hits until they are defeated. Despite Kasplats being one of the strongest henchcrocs of King K Rool, the explosion of a cannonball is enough to defeat them in one hit, which is why I find it so hilariously funny, due to the one-hit defeat of those muscular Kremlings known as Kasplats, being incredibly unusual.

I mean, I like observing them from a far distance, I just don't want to come near them, whether it'd be approaching them directly or swimming above them on the surface. I can't tell you how many games I pussied out of just because of this phobia. Super Mario 64, Kingdom Hearts, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, Gex: Enter the Gecko (I think). God, it's like Banjo-Tooie when I was too afraid to go near those Uggers or the zombified Jinjo King.

I've never liked water worlds. Above all, I found it hard to play on the lighthouse side when the lighthouse was active. On the old CRT monitors it was extremely difficult to see where you were. I was scared by the shells that stole the pearls. From the music and the boom when to make them. 😀

In the Donkey Kong game in Frantic Factory, you had to beat it twice, once for the golden banana and once for the N64 coin. When I played Jetpac, I knew it was good when I got the rareware coin but I thought I had to beat the game the way you did playing Donkey Kong. So I kept playing on and on. I got to level 6, level 7, kept dying, got so frustrated. How many levels does the Jetpac game have? I had to cheat and look online before I realized there was no purpose in playing Jetpac once you got the Rareware coin. Part of the thing was I may have zoomed past what Cranky said to me after I died when I got the Rareware coin because I didn't beat the level and just wanted to get back in and play again. Ugh.

Andy Hensley SAYHAN VIDEOS had the same problem. In his case it was because of it being an emulator. Try a different rom or emulator in that case. Even though this was recorded from my GamePak, I also played it on Project64 without problems. So there are roms and emulators out there that are working properly. Try different combinations till they work. Also remember they use plugins that can be replaced and combined. Hope that helps.

+Andy Hensley It's an app you use on PC to run console games virtually. In other words, if you're playing the game on your PC you're using an emulator. If you're having these problems in an actual N64 console or in the WiiU virtual console then I'm afraid I can't be of more help. GamePaks usually don't have issues of that type and I don't know the WiiU version.

+Barbara Guiot Hi. I know that some games of that era had some "issues" with brightness. There are a lot of details in this regard. I'll sum it up like this: If you're using an NTSC console and GamePak maybe you'll have to adapt your TV settings to more or less have a better experience. In a few words the problem is that the contrast is different between NTSC-U and NTSC-J (J is darker) and U is a port of J. So it's a matter of what kind of TV you're using. I went through a lot of trouble to get my recorder to work properly and I learnt a lot thanks to it. Hope this helps.

I don't think, that'll be necessary. You have all the "101%" collectibles in the descriptions of the videos. Coins and normal bananas don't count. Check there. Even if you have to check one by one, I think you´ll be quicker starting from what you already have! Of course you can start over to enjoy the game again, this time at a 101% attempt.

Pffft please, I was like 7-10 and I used to do no hit boss run gauntlets quite frequently. Castle K. Rool is really the only difficult one IMO. The only thing that makes this boss so difficult is the fact that your timer gets lower and lower and the stars get smaller, but other than that as long as you keep moving and stay aware of your surroundings, it’s not that difficult to avoid being hit let alone defeat the boss. The only boss I could never not get hit by is Dodagon from level 5 because of that one flame wave attack he does that at the time I had no clue how to avoid.
