As someone just trying to figure it all out.......I have successfully transferred BTC to my Tangem wallet from PayPal, that is, it appears in the app. I didn't need my card to do that. I only needed the app. When do I use the card itself? I am having some trouble transferring some BTC from Kraken Pro to Tangem, but I don't know when the physical card is needed?? Trying to understand the difference between the Tangem card, and the Tangem app.

Thank you! Tangem is mobile only because it requires an NFC module to connect. If you were to put it on your phone, it’d be rather safe. You need the card and a PIN to access the wallet when using the app. But, I get it. - Alex

when you bought your set of cards - did you get a tracking number for the shipping courier?.... and did they have your phone number on the box label?..... i ask as the place i live now does not have a doorbell and i need the courier to directly phone me when they arrive with the package....amazon have my phone number on the shipping label which always gets delivered to me without any issues.....

I believe I got a tracking number. I can’t remember if my number was on the package though. That said, you should be able to create an account on the carrier’s website and leave a note for your carrier like “ call (enter your number) upon delivery”. If you don’t usually have problems with deliveries, I wouldn’t worry about it though. - Alex

I get your feelings but the backup card is easier for my wife to use if I die. You need an introduction book for the new-crypto to retrieve your wealth. ( My wife uses Coinbase as a bank, staking for a better interest than banks.

@@sosimonferland1137 that’s a good point if you don’t want to learn how other wallets work. I’d caution storing your money on exchanges. They’re centralized and that’s not actually your money. It would be terrible if something happened and you aren’t able to withdraw your money… Id suggest getting ALL of your crypto into a self custody wallet. If you want to stake, certain hardware wallet will enable you to do that as well. - Alex

Yes, once you have coins on your Tangem wallet you can send the to other addresses by tapping the “send” button. Again, do not send your Bitcoin to an investment company you’re going to get scammed.

Not true: Tangem cards and the app will continue to function. The Tangem app uses the company's servers to verify the card's authenticity, synchronize the list of tokens added between backup cards, and calculate the value of the cryptocurrency in your wallet. Without these services, you will still be able to use your Tangem cards, though it will be a little less convenient. And the new Tangem wallet now has an optional seed phrase method. - Alex

Yes you can receive tokens from anywhere and transfer them anywhere you’d liked. The multiple addresses refers to your public address for each token. For example, some people like to have 3 different addresses for ETH. But Tangem currently allows you to have 1.

Yes you can transfer crypto to the Tangem wallet easily. And no, if someone takes your card you’d still need the access code that you create to access your wallet. And biometric authentication if you set that up 👍

You can have a maximum of 3 cards per one private key. You’re only options are to buy 2 or 3 cards. P.S. If you prefer to know the seed phrase, the new Tangem cards come with optional seed phrase. Then you don’t hVe to worry so much about losing your cards. - Alex

When the app Tangem scans the Tangem cards, isn't that a possible gateway of leaking the seed phrase, as oppose to what Tangem is saying? Also, if large tech company like Samsung manufactured the chip, they can program whatever they want with the chip, hence again, the possible leaking of seed phrase.

Very unlikely due to how the private key is generated, encrypted, verified, and transmitted between cards. Exactly. Since the Tangem wallet is not tied to your phone, all you need to do is download the app onto your new phone and scan your cards. And as long as you activate the backup cards, you can set an access code too. This will prevent someone else from using your cards on their phone.

Using the Tangem app, you can buy some coins directly through the app using your debit card. I generally use a centralized crypto exchange (Coinbase, Gemini, Binance, etc) to buy crypto, then I send it to my cold wallet. According to Tangem, all orders placed after June 20 will begin shipping July 25. When everyone panicked after Ledger’s announcement, wallet manufacturers weren’t ready for the influx of purchases. Tangem did also not reimburse me for 4 or 5 Tangem Pack 2 cards in each set. I will send all these Tangem cards to Switzerland Tangem Headquarter. I lost $200 to $250 dollars and I am exhausted what I had to do for Tangem Support. I have setup Dcent devices, Ledger Devices, Trevor Devices, and I had not any problems to set them up. I am looking to try out very soon BitBox Multi and one other Hardware wallet.

No, the Tangem wallet requires NFC to connect to the app, which is only found on mobile devices (and in rare cases some laptops). But the app is only available for mobile devices.

How do you transfer to Tangem?

It’s the same as any wallet. Whichever wallet you have your assets stored on now, you simply send them to the address on your Tangem wallet. Let’s say you’re using MetaMask to store ETH right now. Here are the steps to send it to Tangem: 1. Setup your Tangem wallet 2. Go to your Tokens on the Tangem app 3. Select Ethereum and copy the address 4. In your metamask wallet, tap Send 5. Paste the Tangem Ethereum wallet address into the recipient spot 6. Choose the amount of ETH you want to send 6. Complete the transfer (you’ll have to pay a gas fee) Let me know if this helps. - Alex

@@cyberscrilla ​ @cyberscrilla so here is the jist, some rules in my security were blocking verification of their Certificate, But during the failure I presumed the card was bad so started to try and use one of the other cards, Still no dice. I examine my security logs and found a stray block for their card, I white listed and was able now to scan the 1st card and instantly took me to the Screen to configure Backups. Trying to factory reset them all and start process over

The Tangem sounds great it almost has all the features of other hard wallets,but one of the main feature.. which is the dealbreaker for me. The Tangem wallet doesn’t support multi addresses for any of the tokens,It’s just one address per token big disappointment. I would’ve purchased a wallet months ago If it wasn’t for that one simple feature that other hard wallet have. I’m surprise it’s been a while that tangem been in the market and still haven’t added multi addresses for the tokens. it’s a shame I would’ve loved to gotten rid of my other wallets and purchase the Tangem as my main hardware wallet.

​@@april6212 In reference to what was said above, you can have multiple accounts (addresses) on a single wallet, and that's what Tangem is working on. Also, coins on different blockchains have different addresses. The wallet address that you’d send ETH to, is not the same as the one you’d send BTC to for example. - Alex

Love the concept, but the app would absolutely be a weak point if the company were to go out of business. Apple, for example, is famous for making iOS changes that necessitate app updates, and creating your own version of the app for personal use is quite an exercise not meant for the faint of heart or those lacking in the necessary funds to procure adequate hardware for the IDE.

If that’s your only worry, the new Tangem wallet eliminates that fear because it allows you to see your seed phrase. Therefore you can access your Tangem wallet using any other brand of cold wallet.

@@cyberscrilla I made a video. I'm not sure what made it stop working and neither does Tangem. They sent a new set of 3 and requested that I give them my old set for investigation. For me it could be two things. My wallet is always in my back pocket and weight of sitting on it might have snapped the NFC antenna or the chips from my bank cards cause it to cancel out. The weird thing is my bank cards seem more durable because they have always been in my wallet and they all still work. I just don't recommend keeping your Tangem card in a wallet that you carry daily.

I had to provide over and over evidence why my Tangem Cards do not work. I ask these so called ladies to reimbuse me my money and I am happy to send the all my Tangem Cards. The said no. In the end they have send me one new Tangem card, probably from 🇨🇭 Switzeland. I still have not used it. I will never use the Tangem card again.

Absolutely do not use one of these,. as he mentioned- you have no access to your seed phrase and you could NEVER recover your funds if these cards were lost, broken, stolen, got caught in a house fire, or any other random nonsense. Not your keys, not your crypto. Avoid these like the plague.

My problem with the seed phrase is that the minute someone finds it (stumbles across it like finding your moms vibrator or your dad's playboys) or burying a pet & finding a steel plate from previous owner or feds or others robbing bank security box they will have instant access to your funds! There will be no access codes needed. Once they plug those words into a new wallet it'll take minutes to drain. People get desperate & steal from loved ones all the time. With this tangem card, they can find my card, I can leave it on my kitchen table but they can't SEE the seed phrase, nor can they use it without my pass code. I'm much more willing to trust that set up than an exposed seed phrase!! (Exposed meaning once its located, it's exposed and hiding them too good means your family may never find it! ) Also I have a secure folder on my phone. It too has a unique 8 number pin, so that plus the different 4 number pin give me 2 lines of defense if they have my phone and my tangem card. If they look for crypto apps on my phone they won't see them. Because when I download the apps they automatically go into my secure area on my phone and then I uninstall the app (found in the unsecured area) and so it doesn't even look like I have any crypto apps at all on my phone. So this tangem is exactly what I've been looking for for 2 years!

Not entirely accurate. When buying a Tangem wallet, you will be asked your name, address and phone number. An then if you pay with bank card, then they have that data too. Of course, if you want to be anonymous, you could ask a friend or relative to buy it for you but then, I don’t know anyone that likes to advertise to other people that they are into crypto holding or trading. So giving some identity data to Tangem maybe an acceptable risk (?)

Yes, I’ve seen that video. All manufacturers put out at one faulty device everyone once in a while. It’s normal. It’s not common for Tangem cards to fail. However, it is definitely worth considering before buying one because it’s always a possibility. - Alex

@@MrHero-ir9nx I do like knowing my seed phrase too. BUT. A seed phrase can also be lost/stolen and damaged just like a Tangem card. You can make as many copies of your seed phrase as you want though. That’s the main difference.
