Always been one of my favorite Led Zepp songs. I personally feel that the slide is what gives the song it's magic. I always find myself wishing I had four arms and could just play everything

Saw Zeppelin at Cincinnati Riverfront Stadium in '77. Crowd management was nonexistent and we were jammed against the closed doors (this was a half-year before the Who tragedy) and one side of the crowd would toss empty beer bottles into the air toward the other end of the crowd. Then someone started throwing oranges, and an entire segment of the nervous crowd started singing "Tangerine." Calmed things down for a bit, until the doors opened and the bloody stampede began in earnest. That scene plays in my mind whenever I hear this song.

+Badguitar I don't miss "general admission " seating at all. Looking back it makes me wonder how more people didn't die. Some of those crowds were scary.
@badguitar56536 жыл бұрын
I can remember the floor of the lobby, just after you passed the turnstyles but before entering the auditorium proper, being splashed with blood and piles of shoes. I wasn't surprised at all when those people were killed at the Who concert at this very same venue. Surprising it didn't happen sooner. Good concert though! And Plant kept pausing and telling the crowd to "move...back...everyone .. take..one..step..back." He could see people being smashed up against the stage barrier. Then they'd start playing again.

Arguably one of the best songs they ever made. A friend dragged me to a band practice in someone's house. Never heard of them, but as it turns out I knew a couple of them and they were all absolutely excellent. They've long since gone on to different gigs, but this song never left. Always considered it too difficult, but you just kicked me in the ass. lol. Thanks.

two things: it is good to hear you singing; and : I've always heard that "Tangerine.." part different. That is does Am - G -D-C ( except the last line "for the queen"). I realize I have never intently listened to the song in ages; the other guitars in there.

Just wanna thank you for all your lessons! Best on youtube.I use your videos before gigs all the time when the band I'm playing with that night throws me a new song list and I need to brush up on certain songs. I got an email today to learn 'Gallows Pole' & 'Tangerine' by Zep for an acoustic show tonight and I could 'kind of remember them but....LOL. 5 minutes with your videos and good to go! Greatly appreciated!

I remember during the Page/Plant tour when he just played the chords during the solo, he would use his thumb on the low E. In the D and F he had the F# and F on low E w/ thumb. But that just something extra - love all your stuff.

I picked up a 12 string acoustic in a shop and even though having never learned this song, I strummed an Am to G immediately recognized the progression pretty quickly and figured out the song. Ended up buying the 12 string and can't stop playing this song lol came here to see if I wasn't losing my mind about the tuning
