"You have to be a lot lighter on your feet, and the dance steps are different too" 🤣🤣 Have you heard The Desert Music by Steve Reich? He uses a siren effect in the strings, the violas, I believe. I didn't know what it was until I saw the score. It's amazing.

I can't wait to hear all of your sound effects. The 1st effect is what captured my interest the most, the Chicharra: As demonstrated by "Solo Tango Orchestra" on the song "Este es el Rey" towards the end of the song. There is also a wonderful violin special effect leading into it, a type of long "gliss" sliding up to it, not sure of the name? Thanks so much, Caroline, for doing this work for the rest of the world! You have reached me here in Southern Italy, where there is lots of tango (milongas & dance) but very little in the area of music education. I like both.

This is a great video, but I wish the camera would be pointed a little more at her hand because it cuts it off and I can’t see what she is doing half the time. However, a lot of these are new and helpful to me as a new tango band violinist.

Thank you for the helpful video! I am a composing student and am currently trying my hands on some Tango music. This is just exactly what I need at the moment! The techniques are so clearly demonstrated that I can just picture how I can incorporate them into what I am writing right now. I have seen some comments asking for notation examples. If it is not too much to ask, can I get some as well? My email is in the reply.
