I have learned so much from your videos and exclamations! I have viewed (I think) just about every tutorial on sourdough bread baking only to find I was more confused than ever! Your explanations feed my curiosity! Ty for your videos!

Thanks for your kind words. I sought out to make the kind of videos that would speak to a novice, as I have been, with plain, step by step instructions. Watch for more, I'm working on a few things, and please do subscribe to this channel if you've not already.

If storing starter in a refrigerator because of infrequent baking, make it drier. That is, use less water and add more flour and mix into a very stiff paste. Sprinkle more flour on top and it will keep for at least 2 months. Take out of refrigerator the day before use and feed the starter to the required quantity.

The liquid measuring cup and dry measuring cup is an old wives tale. They are the exact same measurements. I used to be a firm believer they were different but its not true.

While a cup is a cup, at least in the US, the fact remains that the most accurate way to measure for baking, sourdough or anything, is by weight. See my video "Do I really have to weigh my flour?" for more on the topic.

@@SourdoughSimpleton tyvm, I will check it out. I recently purchased a scale so I am glad I will have another use for it other than portioning my food.

Omg, I have never heard anyone use the word unmolested to describe dough! Yikes!!!
