YES; Strange, funny but that's the truth. This is a known TRUTH to all truthful and honest 50 years and above. There were contributions of non Muslims to the development of that mosque. That's why it's called masalasi Oba and nobody becomes an Imam there without àṣẹ oba including that of Talha/Yunus. Remember most of the early Muslims in Ogbomosoland were from the background of traditionalist. The Chief Imam is therefore a title holder in the Soun's palace and that makes him the Imam of Mosalasi Ọba. Our fathers during the time of the last two Muslim obas increased Ogbomoso Muslims representations by the institution of special committee on Islamic affairs and incorporation of Paakoyi Addini as a member of Sòún's board on religion. Imam Talha was installed based on all these. The first Imam As Sheikh Muhammad Nafiu Onaniyi was soughted for by the then Soun as an indigene to come and establish Jumu'ah prayers on the land that was part of the palace. The place was actually igbó orò. The 1st generation of Imams in Ogbomosoland were FOUR and all by the Sòún's authority. The 2nd generation became FIVE with the inclusion of the 1st Ayilara to the existing four by the authority of same Sòún. This 3rd generation has gotten another increase of Pópó 1 by the same Sòún. It's by rotation among the Imams houses in order to the authority of Sòún or by Soun's veto known by those that know for the past over 200 years. Interestingly of the over 20 Sòún's; only 2 of them were Muslims to install, turbaned and authorised imams of Ogbomoso Central Mosque including imam Taliha. To be an imam in Ogbomoso you either come from an imam house or the ruling Sòún uses his veto as stated earlier. The current imbroglio stems from the Ayilara family insisting right from the introduction of Imam Teliat as not being part of them; the people behind his introduction attached him to one of the six sections of Ayilara (Abbas) making them to solidly stand by him for the scripts of the sponsors to scale through. All the interviews, screening were all façades. Ask any of the participants for the videos; they will just be giving you clips here and there. The former Soun died 22 days later. Fortunately or unfortunately; one of the persons involved in the introduction of Imam Teliat disclosed that they only attached imam to Abbas section. It was the Abbas section now that call the attention of the rest of the house to what mistake they've made (actually it was an honest one because there was a threat that if they refuse to co operate the post will elude the family). Imam Talha and his sponsors have been asked so many times to conviniently establish his geneology in Ayilara for the passed 2½ years but no genuine statement or fact. It was all praises here and there for the new Sòún Ọba Ghandi with the thought of Oba Ghandi will not give attention to the family because of the praises; but the Oba openly declared to the Muslim community in the presence of the imam that his administration will be based on JUSTICE, EQUITY and FAIRNESS among all his subject without sentiments. All that was said to the Imam and his claimed family was that they should go and settle after the king had tested imam Taliha to advise him what to do in that case which imam affirmatively responded that the king should chase away his family whenever they come.
