I can totally see why you would prefer Heartsteel over Warmogs on Yi. Being able to proc Heartsteel with Alpha Strike sounds pretty good. Meanwhile, getting regen out of combat just doesn't sound too useful on Yi, like, you can just meditate to heal out of combat and as jungler you have the manaregen from your jungle item to have enough mana to keep meditating.

For just raw tankyness, building armor and mr is so much better than building hp as Master Yi because the armor and mr work well with the healing much better than hp as meditate is a flat healing and not percentage (unless you get the hp to ap conversion from Riftmaker, but the conversion only makes you heal for 2% max hp). The problem with that is the lack of damage (or other kinds of utility like cc). Master Yi has no damage that scales with armor or mr. Or cc that scales with armor or mr. Or movement speed buffs that scale with armor and mr. But the same thing applies for items too. The only item to have an armor scaling is thornmail but who is gonna stop your opponents from just ignoring you if you play full armor? That's why unfortunately, health builds like Heartsteel Titanic Bloodmail are just better than more armor/mr orientated builds, even if they make you less tanky than armor and mr items.
