We all know why he's really considering retirement. PBC is broke, doesn't have a real broadcast deal or budget, and Al Haymon can't overpay him to have filler fights anymore. There's a reason why the Roach fight got postponed. But it should've been outright canceled. Tank/Roach isn't a big enough fight that it warrants rescheduling. We've seen Tank in enough filler fights. The only big fights out there for Tank are difficult options (Shakur at 135, Keyshawn at 135, Teofimo at 140, Haney at 140). He already aged Lomachenko out so that's off the table. But it's funny that he calls boxing boring when his team's cowardice and soft matchmaking is primarily the reason for that.

He's not giving the fans the fights we want despite the fact that the fights he is making aren't making money (You think Tank would be publicly considering retirement if the Frank Martin fight was a success financially? Or if PBC was in a good place financially?) and he's outwardly saying he's fine with leaving food on the table. Avoided Lomachenko at 130 and 135. Avoided Devin. Avoided Shakur. Moved up to fight Barrios for a reggie belt instead of fighting Josh Taylor for undisputed in the UK, when Josh verbally committed to it after Tank called him out on Twitter. So go. Boxing has and will continue to move on; past fighters who were better, more beloved, and more popular than Tank. He won't be missed as much as he thinks he will be. This is my opinion, but I don't think Tank has made enough to retire. The fights we want from tank could allow him to do that. Teo, Ryan 2, Haney, Shakur, and few other names at 140. A few of these fights could be rematches and trilogies. If the new norm is to retire before 35, they need to make sure they are fighting 4-5 times a year in their prospect stage and once they are a champion they need to fight 3-4 a year, 1-2 ok boxers than the rest are B+ and A level. By 30 they will have over 30 fights and have solid names to solidify their legacy. Tank cant retire without some of these names
