Having worked my entire 40+ year career in a completely and well supplied hydranted area, I am always in awe and impressed by the departments that shuttle water well. Safe Safe Brothers and Sisters.

Scott Allen yeah when that fire happened we don’t have many hydrants in the area sadly

That first tanker is huge!! Nice catches!!
@ronbriggs69054 жыл бұрын
From the number of loads each are doing, that is a massive amount of water. Figuring an average of 3,000 gal / each x # of loads
@trob09144 жыл бұрын
Try doing those rotations for a solid hour with a constant flow of 1000gpm( 8-9 2000gal tankers w/ 5 1500 gal folda-tanks). We accomplished an ISO "8" RATING( unhydranted location) for our department back in the late 80s in Alaska, it's mind numbing

There's no such thing as too much water when fighting fires.

That must've been one hell of a nice house burning down with all that water
@jed-henrywitkowski64704 жыл бұрын
Your comment reminds me. Years ago, a couple of young kids were playing with an ignition source and caused the abandoned house they were in to go up. Due to high winds and the fact that other houses on the block were occupied, the locla fd was dspatched to the seen. As well as the rural fire department (volunteer) from my hometown nearly 30 miles away, the fd from another town, as well as a watter tender from county emergency management.

Good turn out of tankers i too was on rural dept of 40 years and gota say nice supply of water. Takes alot of experience to direct where tankers go to dump and fill

It's pretty rough to hear that noise... not to mention the guy hopping the shit out of the truck. Waiting for driveline pieces to hit the ground. Jamming gears and dropping rears

Give the volunteers an old truck they said. Keep it manual to save money they said

Excellent video, superb camera .. thanks for sharing this .. the ultra low profile light bars we see these days on on wreckers and trucks are so thin, too thin for max visibility .. my preferred size is actually on T-151 at 2:24 we can see the vast difference in light bar visibility .. T-151 more visible ..... it's just a personal preference .... Cheers, Excellent.
@AlphaSaber4 жыл бұрын
Lighting visibility is primarily driven by the LEDs, I have an Amber light bar on my truck for work and while it is only an inch tall the Gen 3 LEDs are typically very visible even in full sun. Looking at the trucks in this video, I have issues with the pattern on tanker T-1's grill and rear light patterns, there's nothing to them to catch someone's eye. I prefer strobes that have a quad flash before they switch to the opposing light.

The lack of people pulling over for those tankers was troubling, and assclowns tailgating them was ridiculous. That Thornhurst tanker got cut off, I would've been callin the cops for assistance at that point to start enforcing some laws.
