Thanks! I'm a multi year pro at RV systems and appliances and you furthered my knowledge here. On our own IW60 Suburban, I set 130° for better dish washing , and would just get a higher flow shower head if problems with low flow cutout. It's cheaper and easier than getting the optional remote. We didn't need to do that though.

Great information I am about ready to install play tankless water heater this week and it is helpful to have the information about the settings. As a contractor I am so glad to hear you make a point about these things being water heaters. It drives me crazy when I hear somebody refer to a water heater as a hot water heater. Are they trying to heat hot water? No, they're trying to heat cold water. Sometimes I'll reply to them and refer to it as a cold water heater, and they always have a puzzled expression.

Interesting video. How much propane use that water heater let say a month?
My controller all of a sudden stopped working. The back light is on, but no numbers or the flame show up. It's a suburban model on a Jayco 26 stx. Do you know what it could be? The camper is only 3 months old, I would like to avoid the trip to the dealer to get it fixed.

Yes, yes, yes! I've had an old demand residential gas on-demand water heater and I've had these problems since it got it installed. I've never seen or heard a single video or article explaining this before. When I figured out what was going on, I developed two strategies for managing it. 1. I go to the sink and turn on a trickle of water in order to lower the pressure in the cold water line so it does not push back on the hot water flow and switch it off. It doesn't take much, but it is wasteful. 2. The second solution was to just set my hot water temp for as low as possible and not use any cold water at all. The low temp of my hot water heater is 100 degrees and that works OK. Thanks for mentioning this. If I had to redesign my bathroom I would have one cold water line going in that splits into hot and cold lines at the shower and sink, and an on-demand point of use hot water heater, one on the sink and one on the shower. This might take some fine tuning, but I think only having to route on cold water plumbing lines would save time and money in construction and simplify the plumbing.

For those who want to use "Hot", in the name, might I suggest "Hot Water Maker", or "Cold Water Fixer". lol. Actually, yeah, If someone is desperate to use temp and heater, you could go with "Cold Water Heater". @@NotMe-st8qc I found out that brand of heater is not made to mix hot and cold. Hot water heater has a Flow sensor that when the flow is right the heater turns on. Our first trailer had a tank and you could run the water as hot as you wanted, turn it off temporarily and back on with no loss of temperature. Our new trailer came with a Girard tankless and we hate it! When you’re dry camping and water conservation is everything this unit at a trickle goes from almost acceptable to cold in an instant at the reduced flow. Showering is even worse because you shut the water off between hair and soaping up, and then you have to wait for the flame-up which wastes a bunch of water (cold!) while waiting to rinse. If this is a quirk with tankless water heaters give me back the storage.
