This was an exact replacement for the old one that lasted about 10 years. kzbin.infoUgkx7yWIKcrbA9KMHkGSfcgxW2lsjHT6B8Sh The top of my mitigation tube by my roofline was just a 90 elbow which allowed too much debris to fall down into the fan, eventually ruining it. Without this issue, I bet it would have kept running another 10 years. When I replaced this fan, I added an extra elbow joint so the top tube now it does a 180, which should solve that problem. The radon guys around here wanted to charge me a $300 diagnostic fee, then parts/labor (probably close to $600 total). I installed this all by myself in about an hour for the cost of the fan; it would probably be even easier/faster with two people. FYI the manufacturer's warranty greatly differs depending on whether you install it yourself (1 yr warranty) or have a licensed installer do it (10 yrs).

I just got an Stiebel Eltron DHC E 12KW For a one bedroom one bath apartment And I am frustrated because it’s good for a faucet but not good for a shower, however the water pressure where I live it’s insane, thanks to your video now I understand the importance about GPM, I will be checking on a Tempra plus 12. I reside in Miami. Thank you so much 😊

Installing an outdoor shower on a pool bathroom in Houston. What would you recommend from a tankless perspective? Gas, electric what model and size? I suspect the shower will rarely get used but the sink for hand washing will be used most often. Thanks,
@PEXUniverse
@PEXUniverse 2 жыл бұрын
Electric could cost less upfront but if it will be installed outside there needs to be in some sort of shelter from the elements. The added cost of electricity might be negligible if it is not going to be used very often. A gas heater can be installed outdoors without venting, but on the off chance it gets below freezing out in Houston you will need to take extra precautions such as draining the unit and insulating the pipes! You can check out more info and see our model options here: www.pexuniverse.com/tankless-water-heaters

I'm not sure if i need a meter upgrade, I'm getting conflicting info from different sources. I have a 250cf/h meter with 7" water column, the tankless unit is the first unit from the meter 40' away on a 1" black iron line. total btu requirement for the home is 330btu excluding the fireplace that is never used, 380 btu with the fireplace. rinnai, rheem, ao smith, and 3 plumbers I've called seem to think that upgrading the meter didn't make any sense, and that my current meter should support my gas requirements, only my gas company seems to think I need to upgrade.

I'm building a new house. I want to buy an electric tankless water heater, but I am worried it will cause problems. Mainly, I want to put it in a small 3' x 4' room I will also use as a pantry, but NOT if an electric water heater emits water vapor/condensate that could create a humid environment that could breed mold. Would it be safe to install the electric tankless water heater in the small pantry? Or would I be at risk of creating a haven for mold? Thanks!

Hi, I live in the UK. I wanted to install Stiebel Eltron DCE-X 10/12 Premium electric tankless water heater in my bathroom to feed the basin and the shower. I talked to their technical team and they told me I could have any shower with this unit. Yet when I was about to install it, the plumber told me it was not going to be good enough for a shower. I contacted Stiebel-Eltron again, and they said that running the unit at its max capacity the best I'd get was 7 Liters per minute, which meant I could not have a shower that would demand more than that flow rate or I'd gate temperature fluctuations. The thing is that all showers on the market at a 2 bar pressure (which is what I have in my flat) deliver almost 20L/m. I'm very confused how Stiebel-Electron can then say their unit is suitable to feed a shower? Am I missing something? Is this unit not fit for showers? Or can I fix this issue installing a water flow restrictor in the shower? Can I even have a thermostatic shower with this water heater? I'd be extremely grateful for your guidance. Thank you!
@marcof.3056
@marcof.3056 2 жыл бұрын
There are shower heads on the market that have a flow rate of only 5L/minute. Just look for “water saving shower head”. As they are made for such low flow rates you may not notice much difference to a regular head. A thermostat is not really necessary because you can set the maximum temperature directly on the heater.

I'm curious about the costs of running a central gas water heater as opposed to electric point-of-use tankless in the kitchen bathroom, and laundry room. I know that one must consider things like water hardness and pH (softening systems) with the POA tankless but overall, how would you say the two systems would compare in cost?

Do gas tankless run at full capacity at all times or is there a point where the BTU throttle down ?

It should run at full capacity unless there is something wrong with the unit. I used to have one and it was great! me and my family used it for years without any problem.

I'm looking at the Noritz AZ-SV (Japanese company which invented the tankless) & the Navean a close rival, also a Japanese made unit. Both have high grade stainless steel heat ex-changers but the Navean has a built in recirculating pump

You are just plugging gas models and knocking electric. With most homes now only needing hot water for showers bathroom sinks and intermittent kitchen sink. As washing machines, and dishwashers all run on only cold water feeds these days the direct hot water demand especially for 2 people or smaller households. They eliminate lots of unnecessary plumbing with traditional tank systems and much less to go wrong. Definitely way to go for lots of situations

If he is talking too fast for you, you can change your video speed by tapping the 3 dots on the upper right hand corner of the screen. This brings up multiple menu selections. Tap the title " playback speed" & you can slow or speed up the video Most of the time, I choose 2x ( the highest) but decreased to 1.5x this time so he was talking faster than most others! Thanks, KZbin, for this option :-)
