They didn't modernize the Stridsvagn 103 properly. In fact they completely screwed up in regards to it. It's a superb design, it just needs a modern engine, heavier gun, reactive armor and the fuel tanks in multiple cells on the side of the tracks with their own reactive plates. A weapon pod containing a few anti tank and anti air missiles should be present with the capability to fire on the move. It should swing down along the rear in order to maintain it's low profile.

You are half rigth there. And I said half rigth due some commanders tanks doctrine is quite shitty: "If i develop an excellent gun why do I need armor? Just don't let the enemy get near me will be ok" This is the same thing that happens againg and again in several parts of the world. Modern tanks are not always good in desings.

Yes. Is this case of turretless tanks in this video. Sweden just don't get that unfortunate event that will make them change their mind. One simple mine, rpg hit on the tracks and that thing is over. There are a lot of this cases in history. And more about making money is about saving money, at cost of human lives.

I disagree, the same can be said for most tanks, as for saving money at the cost of human lives...in my opinion more lives are lost when people in power can profit heavily from an arms race, inadequate, expensive, and unreliable vehicles that have a destiny to be retired, sold to other countries..that are then intentionally destabilized and divided... and then blown up with missiles that are also very expensive.

Not all ATGM's. Yes, many require a static position, ..the TOW for example. Others are guided via lasers. For example, the latest twin Kornet system has the ability to fire and forget. And the Israeli LAHAT, which has been around since 1992 can fire from moving helicopters and can also be fired from main guns.

There are so many wrong facts in this video so I can't bother to write about all of them. Just one. You say that the Strv 74 had a 56 mm gun (Or something similar. I have deleted the file I downloaded and don't really care to look it up again.) In reality it had a modified 75 mm anti aircraft gun. M/37 if I'm not wrong. (Could be a m/36.)

Sweden purchased multiple Centurion mk. 3 and mk. 10 MBTs from Britain, later modifying the mk. 10 variants with new fire control systems and additional protection. The mk. 10 Centurions are the reason the Strv 103 has the designation 103, as the purchased tanks were designated Strv 101 and after early modifications Strv 102. To extend the service life of these they were further upgraded to the Strv 104. When the Strv 103 series were nearing the end of their service life and Sweden began looking for new MBT designs (later buying German Leopard 2’s, designated Strv 121 and 122) the Centurions received one final upgrade, earning the designation Strv 105. Sorry for the wall of text, but tl;dr Sweden did purchase, use and extensively modify British Centurion MBTs
