Ok since this is getting oddly popular. Hey o/ I'm the WHM in this group, there's no HH footage because we hadn't gotten there yet at this point. This was made fairly early in our prog, when people were still getting hit by every 2nd avoidable thing, which I was making a big fuss complaining about. With more experience now, the fight is pretty easy to heal, it was just surprisingly intense for a 2nd floor fight which is what lead to this.

harrowing is tough for healers, but as a tank there are so many fucking busters + taking turrets solo that I feel like i barely have cooldowns to mit it all. This is not a comfy fight for tanks.

i think the best part of this clip is the part where the H*ck No facecam is on a whitemage just casting glare I healed this fight and tanks have the harder job imo, its way more stressful causing a wipe due to poor positioning than having to press more than 1 button

Not very accurate because PF expects this to be a tank fight, they didnt even want to point cursed lasers diagonaly. Healers have 1 hard phase and thats Harrowing Hell, i feel like P8S P2 was much harder for healers in early weeks

Playing as a tank on this tier, I can say this is the first time I feel physically exhausted after a raid when I was progging this fight. The constant running (also sprinting if my pf is doing 242 or refusing to do 3->4 diagonal) and being tossed and yeeted and have to constantly mitigate the autos and tank busters? Let's just say I enjoy P11S more than P10S. As my FC mates described it, P11S is "peaceful".

Even if the laser isn’t diagonal, you can still position yourself to get hit by it and knockback diagonally. The KB is centered on the turrets head, not directed from the laser. It’s actually 100% optimal to let lasers stay straight and let the tank position themselves to get knocked back, even if it is more work for the tank

I think there's one key issue missing in the debate here. This fight has a very high amount of mechanics that don't punish with a guaranteed wipe, but instead require sizable healer effort to recover from. If everything goes right, it's boring. If things are constantly going wrong, it sucks. This is always true for any boss, but this one just feels like it goes harder on the concept than others. Like the poison + infirmity debuff for fumbling off the bridge, or the party-wide dot added to failing a tower, ect. Most mechanical failures can be salvaged, but it is quite hard to do so. Ironically it would be less stressful to prog as healer if the failures DID just wipe the party. lol

Yeah, idk what fight your fighting. It's quite a bit a "Tank fight". Usually my Shake it Off covers the main raidwides. Not to say healers don't have a hard job there, but I'd argue tanking is harder than healing this fight.

I play tank and still prefer the laser to be straight. Tanks can get knocked back diagonally with straight laser since the knockback direction came from the center of the turret, not the direction of the laser.

There isn't anything tank-heavy about this fight. Are there tank mechanics? Yes. Are their healer mechanics? Yes. Does the tank have to worry about boss positioning, tank-swapping, or enmity management? Not at all. Do they need to plan mitigation for stuff? No more than anybody else, tbh. A fight having more tankbusters does not make it a tank-heavy fight.

As a WHM main I think this fight was harder on the tanks lol. There’s things that make this hard which is like all other tiers. 99% of my wipes before getting my clear I’d have to say we’re caused by tanks trying to catch up in prog to the rest of the group cause this fight was more intensive for them than fights in the past.

I cleared this fight on SGE and then learned the fight on GNB in 5 pulls for my reclear. Not much to have to do differently, TBH. Was more difficult to heal than it was to tank.

Nah i play ast and and i know that when 1 role have more responsability, even the minimum, shit happens. And this is a tank fight, silksplit isnt that hard to heal if u use macrocosmos or just big mits, 1 tile strat solves any healing issue, literally is an easy healable fight.

I'm playing as WAR and some of the stuff with spacing mits is kinda tricky. But def not on the level that healers gotta deal with. Harrowing Hell is a tough mit check but it's probably one of the nastiest heal checks in the whole game. Also Healers don't even get to ride on the fun airborne tank buster
