Tanner's best moment was the video call with Jennifer, where she explains to him that people will still like him even if he gets a little quiet, can't supply all the conversation, or isn't smiling. At first he was so scared and confused, trying to process. You could tell that probably no one had ever said that to him in that way. Just the way his whole face relaxed when he heard that really made me happy. We all deserve our moments of sadness, anger, etc. No one is meant to be a performative version of ourselves. Idk if he was ready to learn that but he needed to.

Honestly I needed to hear that advice. I remember I was genuinely so shocked when I (recently, as an autistic adult!!) learned relationships are supposed to be reciprocal and not just about making the other person as happy and comfortable and entertained as possible.
