Kamrupa is known for it's important 4 region called peethas Ratna peetha , Kama peetha , Suwarna peetha , Soumar peetha and their are specific devi tamples in this region mentioned in kalika puran , but after neo vaishnavism arrived in Assam then half of the Assamese people became neo vaishnavism ( monotheistic ) that's why Kamrupa lost it glory.... even though Assamese shaktas are still practicing shakti cult in lower Assam full fledged way . Regionalism has destroyed the shakti cult of Assam .
