2023 has been such a great year for new games, it really does feel like games that came out in Q1 actually came out a couple years ago instead. Like Earth, that one feels like we've had it forever, it's hard to believe it was just this spring!

We haven't played a lot of games from 2023 yet, but of the ones we have played, we really liked Earth. We're looking forward to getting Barcelona to the table soon.

For me, it is Revive, Distilled and Daybreak for coop game as top this year i have enjoyed the most. But i loved your picks a lot because it's not mostly the mainstream and something you mentioned will expand my collection very soon :)

Great lists! My top three games from this year (no particular order) would be Earth, Distilled & Darwin's Journey. I haven't had a chance to play a lot of the games that came out this year but Barcelona is the one that I know I will love. My tastes are somewhere between Kevin & Jonah :D

Never thought I'd see Sagrada at #1 on any of these lists, let alone Sagrada Artisan. I was going to get it, but other reviewers ragged on it, so I abandoned that plan. Now that you have rated it so high, would be great to win it!

First video of yours I have seen, great enthusiasm and I am excited to check out more videos. I think I have only played one game from this year, Star Wars Deckbuilder. But I have played many new games for me and Lost Ruins of Arnak has jumped to one of my favorites. Really hoping to get the newest expansion (I have Expedition Leaders). Also I have the Ark Nova expansion sitting at my FLGS waiting for me to pick it up but it is a drive to get up there and with winter and snow coming to block the mountains between us, don't know if I will any time soon.

I agreed with Will's list the most, although Jonah and Kevin had me with Ticket To Ride. Have not tried that one yet, but the original is my all time favorite. Hard To Get and Aurum look like a blast. A close second to Ticket To Ride is Codenames, so Hard To Get is my next purchase. Thanks for the vids guys! Keep em' coming and Merry Christmas!

I really like the critic/opinions you guys provide on these games, albeit brief, yet very informative! keep up the great content! ... for me, game of the year is Dune Imperium Uprising! I know, I know, it's basically Dune 1.5, but I think the changes they made to the game just makes it all that more enjoyable, the fun factor is way way up there, loved it! but of the games that actually came out on 2023, my favorite is World Wonders, it is awesome for bringing non gamers into the hobby: D

There’s a partial Spanish theme going on! Sagrada (di Familia) is on the center of the Barcelona box. Nice synergy…and you might be able to incorporate the heraldry of Blazon into Spanish shields?

My favorite new game of 2023 so far is Tesseract. It came out of nowhere, and our family are big co-op fans anyway. It doesn't have a ton of heavy strategy, but if you like working together to solve an evolving puzzle, and games with great table presence, I highly recommend it.

looking forward to Ticket to Ride Legacy and Sagrada Artisans, though there is always the challenge of picking the folks to play it with. We only got to May in Pandemic Legacy Season 1 and went through maybe 7 or 8 sessions in Betrayal legacy. You need a solid reliable group to play with and at our age that seems harder to find.

Earth was a big miss for us. Traded it away already. Barcelona is definately a big hit. Aurum was surprisingly good. Also, Jonah nailed it with Ark Nova: Maine Worlds.... great expansion.

Played "The White Castle" at a TH game night and loved it ... need to grab it. I've already picked up Farshore, which is just a fantastic new base game for Everdell.

My favorite game of 2023 was Disney Lorcana. Since I am both a board gamer and a card collector, I don't mind it being a CCG. I think the game mechanics are really good and am looking forward to additional mechanics in future card sets. The only disappointment was the very limited distribution by the company, but I heard a "second printing" of the First Chapter cards will be available next year. Hopefully, the Second Chapter will be more readily available.

With raising robots on the list, you have to give robot quest arena a try! Not only is it just a stellar deck building game mixed with some other exciting elements, it can be played in so many different game modes with different player counts. Definitely one of my top games for 2023!
