Assalam O Allikum Tanveer Bhai...is OS&Y valve same as Rising Stem valve...and is their a practice to use Rising Stem valves indoors on critical srvices and NRV outdoors?

W Salam, Yes same. NFPA recommended to use OS&Y valve instead of Gate valve because fire fighting is critical service and this OS&Y is applicable for outdoor and also indoor. NRV is non return valve.

Sorry I didn't understand mistake number 9 and 10 ? U mean os&y installed before fire department not after ?! And about number 10 u mean that we should use vertical check valve not horizontal? Please if u can explain it Thank you

OS&Y valve is not required in fire department connection There are different check valves for horizonal and vertical pipes. But here installed check valve is for horizonal pipe which is installed in vertical pipe.

W.Salam, Hydrant installed outside of building and landing valve install inside of land/exit locations building for protection. Fire fighting is fire protection systems including fire sprinklers, fire hydrants, fire landing system, fire hose cabinets, etc.
