One of the most unique and explosive voices in Country music history! Tanya blew up the charts when she came out, and stunned everyone in the music industry, with that one of a kind voice.

On this day in 1976 {March 27th} Tanya Tucker performed "Don't Believe My Heart Can Stand Another You" on the Dick Clark ABC-TV Saturday-afternoon program, 'American Bandstand'... The month before on February 8th, 1976 the song peaked at #4 {for 2 weeks} on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart... She was seventeen years-old at the time of this appearance on 'Bandstand'... Between 1973 and 1993 she had ten #1 records and nine #2 records on the Hot Country Singles chart... Tanya Denise Tucker will celebrate her 60th birthday this coming October 10th {2018}...

On Pop goes the country every singer sang live. You can hear on the backing vocals, they are much stronger than on the record and Tanya made some little different phrases while she was singing. Would like to see the interview though.

Not on this one she did not. It is the track my friend. I know some folks who did the shows as well. sorry , not trying to dispute your comment. Just being honest. I can surely say we both agree that she is a Pistol on this song.

Damn Tanya was young in this video. My dad Billy Ray Reynolds actually write this song. I believe Dolly Parton also cut this song a few years later. My dad is a great singer/songwriter and has over 200 songs that reached the charts-many of them in the top 10 on the Billboard charts. So many great entertainers from the 70s, 80s, 90s all the way up till today have cut his songs. He is very old now but still performs all the time. Billy Ray Reynolds was one of the founders of the “Outlaw Country” movement during the 70s. He is still an outlaw today! Country music sure has changed over the years and I cannot stand what country music has become nowadays. All the pop-country that Nashville pumps out is an abomination. Most of it is just god awful. Nashville has ruined country music.

I am a HUGE fan of Tanya and there is Definitely a tape playing while she "sings". I have played this version of this song HUNDREDS of times, and believe she in Lip Syncing. She is my favorite, and always will be :)

I think so... It feels like her physical performance is trying to overcompensate for the fact that she isn't singing live. I'm guessing that she didn't like doing it.

@@Landa2016 Yeah, these shows don't want "human error" and so this happens. Even though it defeats the purpose of performing live.

Great fashions back in the day, eh? Google says: "Pop! Goes the Country was a weekly half-hour syndicated variety country music television series between September 7, 1974 and January 1, 1982", so I'd guess that about what we're lookin' at -
