I was thinking of doing this with plastic beach balls, and paint them with color spray, in order to lay them around my garden. Does anyone know if cats and dogs are able to deflate them? Will the color spray somehow become a "protective" layer?

Of course animals could deflate them by popping them. I don't know of any paint that would provide a thick enough barrier to protect against claws or teeth, lol. Hope this helps. Maybe you could paper mache or modpodge some twine around them,... that would make them more resistant to damage I would think. Good luck!

I made these last year. Some were OK for whatever reason the tops fell off. The silicone glue would not work. I glued them a few times and finally gave up. Did anyone try another glue?

$20 to make this 8 YEARS ago. I priced this stuff today, November 2022...and the price to make ONE of these is about $40 now. So, basically TOO EXPENSIVE now to put 5 or 10 of these around the outside of the house for Christmastime.

where the heck are you buying your supplies?! $20 walmart balls (8x2.50), $3.75 for 3 sets (pack of 3 ea) of small foil pans to use as tops from dollar store (1.25x3), use hangars for hooks, dollar store sells silicon, so does walmart, about $2 = $25.75 Beats expensive large balls or blow up ornaments on Amazon go ahead, price them

@ chiqichiqi I just priced them, and a pair of inflatable 24" light up Christmas balls (red or green) start at only $40 on Amazon Canada. And the ones with the nicer top peaces that are plated plastic start around $25-$30 each, but many have discount coupons as of Nov 2022. Next time try sorting the items with the lowest price first.

I used BEACH BALLS that I bought at Target years ago. If you buy inflatable light up balls they will be much more expensive. I then spray painted plastic containers silver and with a glue gun and glued them on the top of the beach ball. They really weren't expensive. But this was years ago and it seems like everything has tripled in price these days so you could be right:(
