'Tao Po': Dimples Romana, piniling bumuo agad ng pamilya noon dahil sa takot na mamatay ng maaga

Aminado ang aktres na si Dimples Romana na mabigat ang pinagdaanan niya noon dahil pinili nyang magkaroon ng pamilya sa edad na 20.
“I was judged na, 'You're too young. You will not know what to do because you’re young. Why did you want to have a family early?' But kasi that was an intentional child. Cali was not an accident. We really wanted to have a child but that was coming from my fear of dying early. My papa kasi passed away at 40, aneurysm. I had a sister who died at 9, leukemia. So because I have that in the family I always thought sana mag asawa ako or magka anak akong maaga para matry ko man lang maging nanay.”
Sa mga panahong iyon, naging sandalan ni Dimples ang asawang si Boyet Ahmee.
“Boyet would always tell me na at the end of the day kahit anong sabihin ng ibang tao, you always look at the eyes of your children, they will tell you exactly who you are. You look at them and when they see you as a hero, you’re okay. Talagang none of the other things will matter.”
May tatlong anak sina Dimples at Boyet. Meron din silang kakaibang parenting style.
“Yung parenting naman namin is always built upon their personality, not really upon our rules. We change our rules depending on how the [child] is, how the children are. As parents natutunan namin ni Boyet na we think we're raising the kids, no we're not. The kids are actually raising us. At the end of the day, it's always about you listening to your kids even in their silence.”
Para sa aktres, masarap maging magulang pero nakakatakot.
“If you mess this up, that is one potentially sad human being. And I don’t want anybody coming out of my house sad. I want my children to get out of my house independent, happy children who want success but not really their priority.”
Natanong din si Dimples kung ano ang ‘best thing’ sa pagiging ina.
Sabi niya, “I feel like the best part of being a mom is just having that little piece of your heart actually beating outside of you, and that is a miracle. That means wherever you are, you are very much alive. So even when I pass, I want to make sure that that piece of my heart is beating for the right reasons.”
