Did it work out well I was looking at maybe doing the same thing to mine but with the one and a half inch silicone o-ring .

Yes, it worked. I think you can do this repair with any O ring that fits the approximate dimensions.

hi. could this be the reason why i have excessive fumes in my scooter. moreover my fuel gauge drops rapidly to empty when i had refuel in past 12 hours, even i only travel some 3 km. There's no leaking on floor and tank still have gas when i peek into it. So is the fume gone after you replaced the rubber seal?

The fumes are gone. But if you are losing so much fuel, you do have a fuel leak. Or a faulty fuel gauge. you can check it by filling your tank to the max, and check it again in 12 hours. If level is same, check your gauge.

I mean visually check, don't go by the gauge. Open the cap and look into the tank.

@@bikesandoutdoors3616 thank you. You are correct! i noticed there's leak in the carb area. So the frequent drop on fuel gauge and strong fumes is neither from the faulty gauge nor tank float respectively but actually from carburetor leak. I sent to mechanic he put a gasket paste on the cap joints . Fumes and leak is gone although im monitoring it . Thank you . Till then
