Hi, and thank you for your test :) I took the plunge and bought the vp2, received yesterday. I am very disappointed, the image is blurry, in comparison with the index it is day and night. Also my gpu is completely at the pickup (2080S) regardless of the different modes (balanced high etc) nothing affects the framerate and the sharpness are bad. Have you encountered this kind of problem with your headset? (all my software is up to date, and the headset is well positioned on my head, my ipd is also well adjusted) Thank you in advance

In Australia the cost of the Vive Pro 2 is $1,399. The G2 is $1,000. Valve Index or a Pimax is over $3,000 to import. Given the better tracking and compatability of the VP2 it is much better than the G2 and far cheaper than the Index or Pimax.

I can get Reverb 560 usd cheaper than vive pro 2. I'd use it for working on renders and animations. So image quality should impress. Do you think worth it to spend that extra? Or with reverb is enough? Thanks

no issues with glare, especially in high contrast screens? small sweet spot? Doesnt work with multi-monitor setups. No, then i think you must have the Vive Pro 2 + version.....

It is a fantastic headset, but it is a shame that they resticted the max IPD to 70mm in comparison to the Vive Pro at 74mm, because I have an IPD of 75mm and it is not as clear as I would like.

Most expensive headset for me would be the Pimax or Valve Index, as both cost twice as much as the Vive Pro 2 in Australia, the Valve Index controllers almost cost as much as the Vive Pro 2 to import.

Pretty much why I bought the pro 2 as an entry level headset. the index costs more and is worse and the G2 isnt even in the same game.. even is it arguably has a better display and lenses.

I have a HP Reverb G2 and the image is as good, but I think the Vive Pro 2 is better because the max IPD is 2mm better, the faceplate on the G2 is made for people with narrow heads and is uncomfortable for people with a bigger head, and it has a very narrow FOV. I also hate the Windows Mixed Reality software, as it keeps creating 3 virtual screens, and it defaults to opening apps on them that I can't see, then I have to work out how to disable them.

The index is still a great headset but I’ve found myself reaching for the vibe pro 2 more. Better visuals, more popping colours and still with the same great tracking.

@@sonsolar yeah it does, especially if it is like the 1. i threw my 1 off and hit the internet to shit on it. gave it another shot and i prefer it over the index. best headset that can damn near do it all except stand alone but it doesnt meet your needs?

if you get a POP filter for $10 which you use on SLR cameras etc it fixes the lower quality mic input. Making much better Bass level mic input sount

im the only one that get blacks foggy and grayish on pro2? when i play halflife on pro2 its so hard to see anything in the dark places. when i use pro1 everything just pops out and i can see details in the dark places. im using the high option resolution cause i only got 1070.

@@ninthslayer PImax products started from Kickstarter, anyone can buy them at their shop, as well as official stores in places like Amazon and Aliexpress which are for consumers. If you have one, you'll know, but their gears are far too fragile for pro use. Even the newer models that they say are improved. In that context, Vive Pro 2 is by far suited for pro use.

I have the pimax 8kx and the hp reverb G2 and the vive pro 2.. But the G2 is still the king for sure in clarity..And a pitty the glare is a little to much on the vive pro 2...I hope some software updates could bring the vive pro 2 up in clarity near the hp reverb g2

Nothings going to fix that horrible glare. Unless there's something that can be runned on the lenses..But yeah, after in the G2 it's hard to pay this much for something with much higher resolution that can't match it in terms of clarity

I have been doing A/B comparisons for a couple weeks with the VP2 and G2. While the G2 May edge out the SLIGHTEST win in clarity, it loses hand over fist on overall immersion. I believe the main reason (for me) is the colors. The colors and contrast on the VP2 are just better. It’s a better panel. That and the FOV make it a much better experience, in my opinion. Oh yeah, and not having to deal with either the jank mixed reality tracking or MixedVR setup is fantastic.

I got it at home but I prefer my Vive pro 1 with lense mod . No glare, no godrays no smearing no mura no chromatic aberration. And OLED Vive pro 2 is the worst HMD I've ever had.

vp2 is the best headset i ever had and i had most of them including vive 1 and i too did the gear vr lense mod on that,barrell distortion was not even worth it for the extra claritiy and it didnt matter much due to the sde and i reverted it,yeah you got cool blacks with vive but thats about it,the sde was hideous on oled idk why,its like youre going from 1080p to 4k with vp2 and the blacks are decent enough for me,the fov was also bad not even close to vp2 with 6mm foam, its a game changer for me,i only see glare on mostly text and im not even bothered its half as bad as it is on index and it didnt bother me on index either,so glad i didnt listen to the reviews about sweet spot and glare,the 6mm proly helps alot idk i didnt try it with the og foam.

@@Cazanu417 Same,i think its about what you like in a vr headset,me personally i want no screen door effect and the tracking to be good,i just got my vive pro 2 and its the best around this price,like everything is perfect for me i returned a g2 1 month ago because of horrible tracking i couldnt even take out my gun from my holster in boneworks,but this is just perfect same sharpness with a much wider fov im gonna try that leather foam mod just ordered some from amazon you recommend the 6mm foam?i ordered a pack of 3 leather foams with 6,8 and 12mm.

@@Diabolik1235 yeah i only have a leather 6mm and its perfect for me very comfortable too i didnt even try it with the stock foam but i saw its thick af i didnt even consider it lol,anyway im happy with my purchase,i did return a g2 too i play alot of sims it was perfect for that but when i tried some shooters the tracking was just straight up shit but i mostly returned it due to disconnecting issues with my usb on my aorus motherboard,anyway im glad im not crazy and other people love vive pro 2 too,its down to preference but i do think people exagerate the glare issue alot like apart from menu text i dont see it at all and when i do its nothing major.aint no perfect headset currently at 800$ tho,rev 3 was just launched and is 3000$ but even that one aint perfect as it has a low fov lol.

the Vive Pro 2 sucks big time, i owne the g2, valve index and quest 2....and if you ask me which ones are the best VR headsets it will be the Valve Index and Quest 2....Main problems are the lenses...very tiny sweetspot....and not clear picture in the distance....also to run on max resolution 90 hertz mode is very choppy on a 3080 rtx 5900 amd cpu.....i'll return the vive pro 2 back to HTC....The G2 has the best resolution, but edge to edge clarity is not as flawless like the Index or Quest 2.....Also Fov is paperrol style......and WMR software is very crappy.......For now the safest/cheapest bet is he quest 2......

the vive pro was the most uncomfortable and worse Vr headset i ever owned. Wearing that felt like strapping two pillows to my head... and unless you trapped it very tight, the headset would move on your face. Sold it after a month of use.

My Vive Pro w/etsy lens mod and Index controllers is still my favourite and most comfortable, well balanced headset. I guess it depends on your head size and shape. Given the lack of OLED displays I'll probably be giving the VP2 a miss for now though.

@@x32i77 No, perfect right away for me. Only thing I needed to do with the lens mod was to adjust my IPD inward 1.5mm. Never noticed any lose in FOV either.
