I'm actually try to find a solution somewhat different of what you showcased. I want to be able to say... Transmit from my laptop or tablet/phone (watching a blue ray or Netflix)via Bluetooth 5.0 to a device like yours and connect via optical out from it to my home theater system in say 5.1 surround sound. I don't know if your unit supports 5.1 out since you didn't mention those optical output features more in depth. Sadly... All the reviews for optical out devices focus on the 3.5mm or RCA route & don't test optical out more in depth too. I'm trying to stay digital & away from analog outputs as a receiver. Thus... watch something in my bed/chair/couch without a tether to my existing home theater setup. Thanks 😊

Can I use this with my Bose Wave II Radio and my iPad? My iPad paired immediately, but TX, RX or Bypass mode doesn't work. Amazon vendor said it should work, but I don't know what I am doing wrong. can you help?

Thanks for reviewing these products. I'm shopping for something to transmit my tv audio to a raspberry pi I have set up to stream to speakers. The rpi has bt 5.0. I'm not that concerned with audio quality but latency and range are important in this application. Is the range as a transmitter that much better than the other Tao Tronics transmitter BA09? Either would be ideally hid behind a wall mounted tv.

I'm torn between getting a Bluetooth Receiver/Transmitter like this for its flexibility and future usability or just a Bluetooth receiver like the Mypin BA01A or other more expensive ones. My initial use is to be able to play my Samsung S10 songs through my AV surround sound receiver. Any thoughts?

While both units will work fine as a receiver, the MYPIN does have a bit more pre amp output and will drive your AV receiver more, they are two different animals. The MYPIN is only receiver but with headphone amp. however there is a little digital noise when switching between tracks. The Tao is a two in one that works well, keep in mind, the TAO will work for headphones if you have low impedance headphones. say under 50ohms.

While I like Philips gear and have never used their device, I would go with the taotronics device, the 2700 is BT version 3.0 and has no antenna as well as being discontinued, in certain areas of the world. I do prefer the sound of BT 5.0 and the connectivity is easier IMO.

I have had good luck with Tao product but yes you are correct, CS not the greatest. I could do a video on bad CS as I do call these company's and ask the simplest questions and mostly get cheat sheet answers or no help at all. Or they never pick up the phone. cheers
