TAP Portugal, longhaul in Business Class. My honest opinion!

In May 2022 I flew onboard my first ever Airbus A330-900neo, with TAP Air Portugal, from Newark EWR to Porto OPO in Portugal. I found a pretty good fare in Business Class (about USD 1100), and I've seen fairly nice flight reviews of this business class on KZbin. So it was time I try it out as well. Here's my verdict.

Two years ago they started service between Cancun (where I live) and Lisbon. I booked my roundtrip ticket from Cancun to Paris via Lisbon. I loved the 330 Neo followed by 321 Neo to Paris Orly. I paid 900 usd as it was a promotion. Service was really excellent with very nice and friendly cabin crew. Foods were nice. The cabins of both aircrafts were great and I could fly with TAP again.

Glad you had a good trip with them, and it seems you had a good cabin crew. Mine was a bit disappointing, but overall it was good value for money I‘d say.

TAP has been voted the 13th best airline in the world. Generally the European cabin crew are career people and aren't over friendly. For that you need to experience the Middle East and Far East airlines. Exceptions go either way of course

Another nice and honest review from you..very well done. I have been considering to fly this product for quite some time. I think the hard product is good..of course no QSuite like on QR..but better than EKs 2-3-2 Business Class. Food looked not bad. I missed the wine list..was there none on board? Pls show on future videos. Personally, i rarely ask them for a recommendation and ask for a little wine tasting instead..often even for a blind one. Sorry to hear about the lack of enthusiasm of the crew..it just seems to be like that with southern european crews..Iberia is notorious for such crews. I really had expected the Portuguese doing better, but well...another airline one would only choose when the price is right. Thank you for sharing.

Again many thanks for your excellent and comprehensive comment, it’s a pleasure reading them. I will include the wine list in the future, good point:) Regarding wine tasting; Aegean just recently offered a spontaneous tasting of all 4 of their wines to me, when I asked for a recommendation, enroute from ZRH to ATH. Fabulous little experience and great example of cabin crew attention/ engagement. A pity I wasn’t reviewing that leg.

Thanks for another nice review. i was wondering if there were hot breakfast available. For business class, there should be at least one or two hot breakfast option. The plane looks nice and modern though. 👍

Thank you Sir for your great review. Yes Lis-Ewr, I found the crew to be wonderful in April. So-so on the red eye return. Tap for me, is best value for the overall package.

My dear friend, at around 3:35 you mention the the amenity kit pouch has an ilustration of San Francisco, but that is wrong. The ilustration is of Lisbon, which has a bridge just like the Golden Gate. It is called the 25 de Abril Bridge. Come on, it is a Portuguese flag carrier, why would it have its pouch with some other countrie´s ilustration?! That pouch is from a series of diferent ilustrations, all with Lisbon related motifes. I can‘t quite tell, as most of the flight I tried to sleep and wasn‘t paying too much attention about their proactive service efforts. But other reviews indeed show a lack of attention.

You can pre-order your main course. We fly from Lisbon to Cancun later this month, and pre-ordered online, they also ask for special dietary requirements

Hmmm....meals coming from a trolley and everything was served in one tray this remind me of economy class. Doesn't feel premium at all.

It was the worst airline I've ever been on. They forgot my bags in Lisbon, the food service is very bad, you can lose your teeth to eat the sandwich they gave for breakfast. I travelled from Athens to Lisbon then Lisbon to John F. Kennedy New York Airport. Newer ever!!!
