Ang format ng debate ninyo ay hinde nag uudyok ng public information kundi ng batuhan ng putik. Although it's good to remind the people about history, he chose to not properly answer the question and use the "Martial Law" argument to get the favor of the people instead of using his own intellectual capacity to win the debate. Not a fan of the Marcoses but honestly speaking, I like Imee's answer. Instead of limiting the number of terms, limit the number of relatives in position. Atty. Diokno's response on Martial Law is actually a nice move. May time pressure sa debate na ito, it's better to caught your opponent offguard. And also, may point naman din if he uses the Martial Law example, because that term lasted for a number years then, thus his stance for limiting the terms for all the electives. Under Martial Law, he closed the congress and the senate. Now, without those legislative body who will now make laws? It is Marcos, what Marcos says became the law which makes it rule by man not rule by law. If he says hypothetically, "these farmers and fishermen are destroying the country, they must be banned and punish", he could make it a law which is an autocratic in nature and deterrent in the morals of men. If that is not what you call not a dictator what is? That's why people are not fond of Marcos and oust him thru a revolution because he inflicted harm to the Filipino people. Now, even his accomplishments are sugarcoated.. the Philippined after the admin of Marco have too much debt in the ISF and World Bank, hence Cory cannot make any major programs becayse most of the tax were allocated to pay those debts. Moreover, the atrocities mandated by Marcos, killing people for someone who opposed to him and his allies, harrassing them and to some extend killing them. That is what the Filipino feared, because even a person who is presumably innocent dont have the rights to defend himselg because of the Martial law and anti mongering law he enacted. You clearly change the narrative that time, however, many historical sources would point out the authoritative nature of Marcos and his harsh way of treating the opposition. He wanted power so bad that he was so violent against the oppressors.. To change informations and facts also dictate how dictator preserve its power: deception. You can't blame Chel Diokno, he's just being true to his color. Yellows have nothing to offer so just slander a dead man who they didn't even have the balls to give a fair trial by not allowing him to return home to answer their accusations. Imee's answers were direct and based on a scientific research while Diokno started with ad hominem and ended with another ad hominem that was even far from the question. I'm not saying Diokno is dumb but it's obviously written all over him. Speaking of term limits, I wonder what would've happened to Singapore if they had term limits.
