Society has made different levels of judging girls at different levels. By their way of speaking, by their friends, by their behaviour and almost always by their clothes. To save ourselves from such society should we give up our choices and succumb to them or keep doing it our way and fighting till we make the world better?
In this Tape A Tale story, Vanika tells us about the point in her life when she stood at that point. Her clothes, her choice or society's judgy eyes, and their hurtful comments! What did she chose and was the choice that simple?

I was fortunate to watch her during live Kahaniya session at Delhi. Vanika was youngest storyteller there who had spoken and expressed her thoughts clearly and cleverly before the audience. I m so happy that she talked so politely about this thing and i felt every single bit Because i belong to a family where no girl has worn something other than suit salwar and my parents dont force me to wear suit and all but when it comes to short skirts and something that shows little skin they become conscious and tell me to not go out even in front of my grandparents saying they would stare and say things about you., you don't know about people's thinking and much more stuff... But i think someone needs to bring the change, if someone else is not ready to change their thinking then you should worry about them because those people are never there when you need them. We humans have evolved so far and technology has advanced so much but still judging people by their "short" clothes is what hinders development. So thanks for surfacing the issue.

A serial killer, who is killing any random person every night after 10 pm is roaming in my city. None of his victims have managed to escape alive out of his trap. The most common thing that has been noted among his victims was that all of them were wearing white saree at the time of murder. This is going on since 4 months, so he has killed about 120 people till now. I am a nurse working at a hospital. I generally have day shift but last night I had night shift which starts at 10:30 pm. So, I left my home at 10:00 pm. My uniform was white saree. I could have wore a different dress, went to the hospital and changed into my uniform there. But I thought, why should I fear of wearing white saree. After all, police is there to protect me from this serial killer. I wanted to stand bold. So, I left home wearing my white saree. I was about reach the hospital in just 5 minutes, when the auto driver, in which I was riding, suddenly stopped the auto. It turned out the auto driver was none other than the serial killer. I tried to run but failed and he gagged me and kept on stabbing me with a 4 inch long knife till my soul left my body. . . . . The thing is very simple, the society is the serial killer and we are the victims. Nothing is going to change so easily. Society is judging girls and will keep on judging girls even in your next birth. Safeguarding us from them is our responsibility. Even I am a working lady. I have also faced these things. But maturity teaches u many things. I agree with Vanika, but as she said there is nothing wrong or right, its just ones view point and society is not going to change its view point so soon. Till then we have to fulfil our responsibility of safeguarding us. The moment we fail in this responsibility, then no one will stop to remind us about it. Rani Lakshmi though ignited the fire in 1857, but it took 90 years for freedom to come. Do we have that much time with us? (As a matter of fact, freedom came as a result of many socio economic factors, especially heavy loss of resources in World War II) A small note to those who will reply, please don't say anything derogatory or vulgar. I am not saying anything was wrong with her skirt but you have to keep in mind that dressing choices do matter. if I were a girl and I have to choose my dress for giving a ted talk I would choose Formal Suit with a nice blazer and at the same hand could wear a bikini on the beach/pool. 4. You can wear anything you want unless and until you are violating a law. 5. Dress wahi pehno ki jisko leke koi bhi agar aapko whole day comment karta raha phir bhi aapka confidence aur mental stability km na ho. 6. I hope one day you will be confident in your skirt so that none of anyone one's comments will matter to you. 7. I live in California and here people wear what they want to wear, literally, mini skirts are worn on the streets and full-length loose trousers are worn in the club also. It is just that those girls are very confident in their choices. Homeless people do stare at them but these girls waste 0 seconds in replying to them.
