Do the tape you use already have holes in it!? Or did you make the holes before you put the tape on!? How!??

That’s perler tape. It already has holes. They discontinued it but you can find some in amazon.

What is the tape for? I'm a noob and my kids want to get into this medium.

You use the tape method if you don’t wanna iron on your board. This is ideal for big projects. Ironing on the board will warp the board or even melt the pegs.
