observing from America as a 40+ year drywall guy which started with the original Ames Taping Bazooka / tools. i see so many things different here from the ways Ames Tool Company company intended order of taping .. 😬 Have literally never seen the angles taped prior to the flats etc .. i will not comment farther because i do respect the speed and teamwork you guys display !! Rock on !

This is one of the best drywall "CREWs" ive seen in a long time. I emphasize the word CREW because they appear to work very well together. They keep a great steady pace and they all have what i like to call that stroke meaning they know how to manipulate and operate there tools in the proper way . Would hire any of these guys at my company in a heart beat. Very well done guys🤘 #DoneRiteHomeImprovements

With that many guys it's good to have 2 bazookas. One of the wiper dudes can keep a full bazooka ready for the tape stringer. He Never stops to fill. Works well with flat boxes also. Run 2 boxes. The chaser wiping down drops back and keeps a full box for the box man. Once again, he never stops to fill. That doubling back of the wipers with a trowel sure makes it pretty. I don't know how necessary it is. A full joint prefill does the same prolly quicker. Notice in a small unit like this with lots of guys, so the unit is taped fast, that the angles get run first. If flats run first (like normal) and not allowed to set, the angle glazer would pull out the tape on the flats. Well Done!

8:38 you can see the tape is curved a bit you need to make the tape straight as possible because over time it leads to cracks its true I been working in this 12 years I've seen people work and they leave lots of tiny errors or they don't focus on the tiny details to give a quality job too the client
@petergriffin3834 жыл бұрын
Hate to say it, but these jobs nowadays consider that normal and is acceptable. People are so impatient these days that they are willing to sacrifice a small bit of quality.
@skipads51412 жыл бұрын
Speed versus quality. Like roofers who all want to be the fastest and leave angled nails and shiners everywhere. But hey, they can brag to each other how fast they did it.
@Jake_Hynds2 жыл бұрын
a little curve in the tape isnt going to cause it to crack later on lol. mabey not having enough mud under the tape or if the tape curves so much that it doesnt actually tape over the entire crack of the joint then it might crack other then that no

Love the videos! Quick question. I seen in your other videos you guys use the flat boxes to coat the flats. Did you ever try wiping the tape with an 8inch knife then back filling it a little? Makes it a little easier for when you use the box. Anyways love the videos man

question. I have noticed in a couple videos from Australia I think? that the ceilings and walls do not form a tight seam like normally seen here in the US. I assume theres good reason for that...crown molding? I would assume youd still want a tight seem though, so someone help me haha. I have never seen that before.

The gaps in the corners are terrible. I don’t care if they are going to be covered with something. The gaps destroy the building envelope. Also having gaps in places like a garage would be a huge no-no for firecode. Just my two cents as a remodeler.

Hey max. So I'm the guy who commented in the past about the salt trick. I want to ask you in your experiences what is the best automatic taping tools for corners in particular, I'm still thinking of doing joints the way I do with a trowel and hawk, paper tape. I desperately need to increase speed, I have houses out the ying yang with deadlines. Im getting one of the corner bead tools right now to increase speed there, also a dewalt screw gun auto feeder, but I never used automatic taping tools and my old boss was against them, said any imperfection in a corner would make a high spot or bubbles in the tape. Just asking your opinion because of all the vids your making of them, thanks ttyl.
