Have you tried using TP link Vigi NVR to connect these Tapo cameras which are ONVIF compatible and see if that works on both NVR as well as Tapo app? I am looking at setting this up to work with both Tapo App as well as NVR if I could. I am not sure if I can do that or not. I assume may be not but wanted to check and see if you have tried or have any suggestions? I am primarily wanting to use Tapo App for these Cameras and as a backup also want to be able to record on HDD through Tp link vigi NVR I was able find for $70 only. Can I do that both simultaneously?

But what service does it use? Or it just records in dvr?

If you need constant recording buy a network DVR system. This one records with detection not all the time
