What a great video!! This is the 3rd like this I've watched and the others felt so overwhelming!! Not this one!! I'm going to take on this project and I'm going to make sure I go to TAP even though there is another plastic plastic place a lot closer... I really appreciate it!

Seriously you should be saying 1.5 - 1.8mm thick NOT 15 to 18mm mm thick. 18mm is 3/4"! You should change this in the video before someone tries to make a 15mm thick gelcoat mould, and wastes their time and materials.

You are correct that 15-18 mm is about 3/4". But the video uses the term 'mil' not millimeter. They are completely different terms. The term mil is not a metric term referring to millimeters. One mil means .001" (one one thousandths of an inch) thickness. So the recommended gel coat thickness in the video is .015" to .020" thick, roughly the thickness of 4-5 sheets of paper.

Are you planning on adding part 2, how to lay up on the mold you made. I am subscribed and I would like to order a catalogue. I will look for one at your website. Thanks for all your videos

Thanks for the clarification - you can see how easy it is to get it to get those terms confused- when the majority of the world uses metric..

All that just to make that. There has to be an easier way to make molds.

well explained but don't use cabasol in the corner when making a mould use continuous roving cheeses its much stronger Mil gauge is essential for spraying gelcoat I agree
