Shouldn't the manual control and the radiator valve be placed horizontally instead of vertically? vertical would cause poor operation of thermostatic valves

Can’t say I’ve ever wrapped an outside tap pipe thru the cavity in 25 years . I’ve recently started to use rapid blue instead of ptfe on threads much easier
