these are Lithuanian multipart songs. SUTARTINĖS (the name derives from the verb "agree", "to match") is a unique phenomenon of Lithuanian traditional music, an extremely old form of polyphony. SUTARTINĖS - fine art, reflecting music, text, and motion. SUTARTINĖS are mainly sung by women, instrumental pieces by sculptures, chuckles, kanklings, etc. instruments are made by men. The texts are rich in archaic refrains, frequent sounds, the meaning of which can now only be foreseen. A characteristic feature of contractual arrangements is the simultaneous sound of different melodies and different texts (sound and sound).
